While the amenities and facilities are great and well maintained the staff has had a massive lapse in disclosing when/how their move-in payments are required-- they will not accept anything outside of credit/debit card it paying on your move-in date and do not make this clear in their communications. When I moved in I was blown away to find sunflower seeds in the garbage disposal which leads to damage. Even worse the washing machine was not hooked in properly and required me calling emergency maintenance on my first night to make sure the kitchen didn't flood.

I could go on about the numerous issues I&#39;ve encountered here at The Station on Central&#44; but I don&#39;t have the time right now or the desire. I&#39;ve had problems since the day I moved in. However&#44; the biggest (and most frequent) issue is the recurring leaks. This is the fourth leak in my apartment since I moved in a year and a half ago. Each time&#44; I&#39;ve had to call multiple times and all but beg the maintenance staff to address it.

As you can see from the attached images&#44; the leaks happen so often they&#39;ve now started to stain the faux wood floors.

I reported this leak two days ago. Still no response&#44; still not fixed. How long before mold starts setting in?

In all fairness&#44; my apartment is very nice for the price and location. If you plan to move in&#44; come prepared with a great deal of patience....and perhaps a rain coat.

UPDATE 5/8/14: It&#39;s been a week since I first notified management. Still no resolution.

UPDATE 8/22/14: 3 months later and still no fix. No contact from management. The problem has only gotten worse and now the floors are starting to mold, pretty severely. I&apos;m disgusted by the negligence of management. Fortunately, my lease is up at the end of this month.

Do yourself a favor. DO NOT MOVE HERE!

Please whatever you do&#44; DO NOT RENT HERE unless you like to have frequent floods&#44; a rude staff and an overall horrible experience.  My apartment flooded multiple times and the staff was so rude to me and only helped me AFTER I GOT A LAWYER!  Not to mention&#44; this complex is not even cheap in comparison to what you could get in via today s market given the economy.  There are too many smokin deals out there so don t let these people fool you~! 

I have never been treated so horrible in all my life and had such an overwhelmingly bad experience.  I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

I happy to say that I have never been so happy in my new complex and I was treated poorly for so long that I forgot what it was like to actually be treated with respect.  The new complex I live in is awesome and I only pay $20 more!!!!!!!  PLEASE DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE!!!  I BEG U!

FLOODS HAPPEN---DO NOT RENT HERE

First off&#44; anyone who gives this place raving reviews is an employee of Empirian or a friend of an employee. So&#44; now that we got that fact out of the way&#44; let&#39;s be truthful about what Empirian is about:

Last year my AC was malfunctioning and it took them 3 months to fix&#44; which resulted in high electric bills. 

Leaking roof&#44; that I complained about for about 1.5 years&#44; until my kitchen got flooded couple months ago- they finally had to fix it. I was told just recently by one of the maintenance guys that AC units are old and parts are due to be replaced that&#39;s why they have so many issues with them but Empirian is not doing that.

Filthy grounds- dog poop everywhere. Trash containers with poop are over filled and the whole complex stinks because they don&#39;t empty them every day. Health hazard!! Homeless cats everywhere and continue to multiply. People provide food for them outside&#44; which I understand- I am an animal lover myself but that&#39;s not the best route. Animal control must be called!

Dirty hallways- they never have them cleaned. I feel like I live in low income or perhaps no income projects!! And this place is starting to look more and more like it!

Loud neighbors- complained to management; called the night time security&#44; called police. Angela the manager&#44; tried to feed me BS that I shouldn&#39;t call the police as they won&#39;t do anything- maybe true but at least I have a police record of every phone call I made; she advised me to call the night time security as they keep track of that and eventually they evict the tenant if the noise does not stop. That started in the beginning of the year. She promised me he would be moved to another apartment by May. He&#39;s still next to me. Last weekend partied on the balcony until 4 am!! I work on weekends also&#44; so just because it&#39;s a weekend&#44; no excuse.

Swimming pool- it seems like this complex is accommodating lower income families. Sorry&#44; don&#39;t mean to be judgmental but with that come a lot of other problems. Glass is not allowed at the swimming pool yet people bring bottled beer and even though there are employee(s) who live on the premises&#44; they don&#39;t bother to check to see if people are complying with their policy. People bring their own radio and jam music they like. I don&#39;t think radios should be allowed! I for one don&#39;t want to listen to hip/hop or rap! What if everyone brought their own radio? That shouldn&#39;t be allowed!

I am in the process of looking for a new place and will break my lease legally. Yes&#44; it will be legal. On top of that if my neighbor will not quit- I just might file a lawsuit again him for interference with my quiet enjoyment and Empirian for costs I will incur for needing to move and inconvenience since I have everything documented about numerous complaints&#44; which none of them have been rectified.

This place has two stars overall for a reason! The Station is under new management as of a few months ago. This was suppose to be a good thing, but I do not think they know what they walked into. My roommate and I have lived here almost a full year, and aside from the previous issues with 2 broken dryers, kitchen sink flooding, broken air conditioners, leaky air conditioners, as soon as the phoenix monsoon season hit this last month, my roommate and I quickly learned that we now have flooding issues. The place is falling apart!!!

Yes, it is understood, floods happen!! It comes through our front door, goes behind our TV and electronics, through the walls behind our dryer and my roommates closet, ruined her shoes and her clothes smell like mildew, and my bathroom wall had water pockets. The ceiling was seriously about to fall through!!

The attention of these issues have been addressed repeatedly and the response we got from one very unprofessional male in the front office was &quot;would you like a role of paper towel so you can clean it up!&quot; 

Leslie is the only manager who has been professional, helpful, and has taken an initiative to help us. She came by and took pictures and look at how serious the problem is. Maintenance finally came by and tore open our wall, yet it has been several days now and nothing has been repaired. The mold is visible all over by bathroom walls and inside of it and it is growing by our front door too. I have other friends that live here who are undergoing the same issues like water leaking through the walls of their kitchen and coming through their windows. It is just not worth the stress and health issues.

CHECK OUT MY PICTURES!!! There is nothing luxurious about this place and your $$$ will go to waste.

Unless you want to live in a disgusting moldy apartment with numerous issues after another, and careless and rude management, DO NOT MOVE HERE!!

New management is a joke! They stuck notes on our door at midnight last night saying our water would be shut off today from 9am-2pm! Seriously! And the letters are all posted January 5th, so they new this was going to happen days ago and didn&apos;t bother giving anyone a heads up so they could plan appropriately. I&apos;m not happy, by far out of the three managements I&apos;ve watched these apartments change hands through, this one is by far the worst! We will be moving out as soon as our lease is done. Oh yeah, and management, we still have water damage and significant mold from storms we had in October! I have my own contractor coming in soon to make sure all this mold isn&apos;t toxic! For people looking to move here, don&apos;t! You will thank me later!

Resident of a 2Bd/2Ba unit on the second floor from 2018 to 2020 Pros: Good location for Phoenix light-rail and Indian School Park. The common area allows for a lot of natural light thanks to the large windows and open floor plan. The kitchen counters have sufficient space for two people to be cooking at the same time. Master bedroom closet is large. Both bathrooms have two cabinets worth of storage. Cons: Significant water damage following every rainstorm. -The living room ceiling as well as the balcony ceiling collapsed from the collection of rain water. -This occurred three times in about one year, and to many units in the complex. -Bedroom windows leaked during rainstorms. Mismanagement of critical repairs. -The second ceiling collapse event went un-repaired for six months and then took one month to complete, rendering the living room unusable for half of a year. The long wait was partially due to the long list of units that required similar repair. -The first ceiling collapse went un-repaired for over a month. -The third ceiling collapse went un-repaired for at least a month and was still un-repaired upon move-out. Most notably, no form of compensation was provided for any of the water damage events. In short: This complex has potential with well styled kitchens and a heated pool, but the inability to maintain structural integrity during storms proved it to be an unsafe place to live. Additionally, the management (not the staff), offers poor customer service.

Its not a safe complex anymore. The staff is friendly, the residents are great and its a great location. Pool and gym are great when open. Unfortunately they do not take security seriously. There were 3 car break-ins last night, mine included. This is an ongoing and increasing problem that management/owners are not taking seriously. The gate locks are constantly broken, always at least one or two not working. Lights at entry point will be out for weeks. The crime issues in the complex are getting worse and worse and their only solution is adding more lighting to the garage and internal campus. Its just not safe here anymore and will continue to get worse because the complex doesn&apos;t take our safety and security seriously.

Don&apos;t live here (the station on central in Phoenix). The front office, Daisy, is one of the least knowledgeable individuals I have ever met. I have lived here for 13 months now, been a great tenant. I got the renters insurance through their preferred vendor, ePremium, to avoid a security deposit. Well, my credit card expired and the email they sent saying payment didn&apos;t go through for the second year went to my spam box. I recognized the issue on 8/30, paid, it processed on 9/1. They charged me $100 dollars for TWO months of no insurance even though the lapse was less than 3 weeks and was rectified at the first knowledge of the issue. &quot;If we did it for you then we&apos;d have to do it for everyone.&quot; Daisy had the gall to tell me that&apos;s how fair housing laws work. Literally misquoting the law, to a law student, to justify herself. Then, when I said &quot;why do I feel like this is just because you didn&apos;t like the way I worded my emails to you.&quot; She essentially acknowledged that was the case, so to add these office managers are vindictive. I&apos;m a law student, living budgeted, and while I&apos;m lucky to have parents who can supplement me, it shouldn&apos;t be the norm to have a tenant explain an extenuating circumstance to you to just then disregard and blame them! I can understand the $50 dollar charge for august, while it&apos;s bogus still, I can get that I signed an addendum saying it was their right to do so. But to charge me for two months because they lacked the ability, no the competence, to see that the coverage was paid for before the next month began is a total slap in the face. Save yourself the trouble of having people making 35k dance for the corporation that turns them over more than I care to count. This is the like 3rd or fourth different person I&apos;ve worked with here, so the fact that the little power they have to exercise over others is in this context says something of the types of people this company hires to run their property. Do better MAXX, hire people who care about the people they manage and find it within yourself to recognize the difference between negligent payment avoidance and a plain error that was quickly and competently taken care of.

The office are terrible to tenants

Overall I like this community and the location, though not many would prefer staying opp. to rail-road station. Pros are location, nice amenities (gym, yoga room, heated pool and swimming pool), lobby has free beverages, I like the office staff and maintenance staff who are very friendly and helpful. Close to good restaurants and shopping malls, and well connected by public transportations. The community is nice, reasonable rent. Cons: not very secure as we had a car break-in when it was parked in the parking space in the front of building. Also, kitchen appliances are old. When we moved in, the dishwasher had a broken door and frig was old. Both frig and AC were sucking power with low performance, and our electricity bills were higher than it should have been given our lean consumptions.  Also something about the lightings- either in the kitchen or the living space or the entrance would die almost every month. So we had put in a work order very frequently. Some plumbing issues too in the guest bathroom which will not be fixed asap if you are in a 2B2B apt. But things were resolved over time and work orders were attended to based on nature of issue. Overall I would still give a good rating as issues were fixed on time.

Run! Absolutely incompetent office staff. Had my personal information lost/mishandled during the move-in process. Took a month to complete roof repairs when my apartment had substantial roof leaks during inclement weather - should've served them a five day material health and safety notice. Replace the office staff and you have an incredible community, great amenities and roomy, well-designed apartments.
