Incompetent staff, facilities barely work, cockroaches spotted in buildings, pool gets closed often, mail gets stolen, you have to pay for parking monthly and god forbid your friends come and visit you for less than 12 hours cause their car will get towed and sent to an unmarked locarion in San Leandro. Alameda is great. Summer House is not.

While the apartment itself is decent, there are a few concerns that make living here less enjoyable. The neighbors frequently throw loud parties, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. The area is always littered with garbage, and the gates are almost always broken, making security a concern. On top of that, I've noticed human waste and dog messes around the complex, which creates an unpleasant environment. These issues really affect the overall living experience.

Terrible apartment community! The property is in poor condition and poorly maintained. It's common to see dog urine in the elevators. Dog droppings in the hallway. The exterior windows are never cleaned so you can barely see outside of your windows of your apartment. There is a constant roach infestation that never gets addressed. Move here and you will have roaches. The property managers do no care although we pay $5 a month for pest control. Trash is charged $100 or more a month in addition to rent and the dumpsters are always overflowing. These are the worst apartments to live in. The only reason most residents live here is the neighbors and they can't afford anywhere else. The property managers also do no uphold the no smoking policy to the point that some of the tenants some on their balcony and don't hide it. I was moved into a unit that had stained carpet, no sink drain,a broken dishwasher, and my front door latch wasn't installed properly so my safety is at risk. I brought this to the attention of the leasing office. They did nothing! Don't move here unless u have no other option. You will regret it.

The parking is horrible. You have a pass but there isn't enough parking public or parking pass required. The BUGS no matter what, there are so many spiders, ants, and cockroaches. There's some roaches in the hallways and they crawl in or they come out of the outlets. There's no ac. The staff ignore things half the time like work orders, or emails, or do the bare minimum with an attitude. There's fixtures and items that need to be fixed or replaced not just painted over or superficial fixing.

The leasing process was one of the weirdest experiences I've ever had. The prices were all over the place and I wasn't allowed to tour the specific units that I would be leasing and living in. Was only shown 1 example unit and told the others are similar. When it came time to sign a lease, I was just assigned a unit without the option of viewing it. I move in to find a dishwasher that's falling out, a broken ac control unit, an ant infestation, and to find out that the unit is extremely dark. After getting all of the items fixed and coming to terms with the darkness, the property itself is very nice and I really enjoy all of the amenities.

Overall I am not completely satisfied because I am fighting with cockroaches for the last few months. I am a very clean and tidy person and my family live that way too but I guess that does not matter if the building is infested with it already. I pay for pesticide control every month for what?! Adding on that the trash payment for every month is so high that it is almost like we are renting another room at the dumpster.

So far, I have no problems here at Summer House. This has been a great place to live, there are stores and restaurants to choose from in the neighborhood. I like the area i which I reside. There is also the beach to go to and relax.

This place is diverse, the place is a bit expensive, there is trash everywhere, people are a bit inconsiderate and leave trash near bins and not inside them. Pools have been closed several times with no end date, the gym equipment is frayed to a point where I've gotten cuts from the cables. This place had doggy poo bag dispensers but they tend to be closed. The apartments themselves are kinda nice tho you hear your neighbors. If you live on the lower floors you'll hear their footsteps. The people working immediately in summer home are usually really nice and cool. I like talking to them and they are often great at helping folks out, there used to be a leasing person named Caleb who was stellar but for some reason higher leadership who I've never seen, got rid of him. He was the best bc he was amazing at deescalation. For what you pay for this place isn't worth.

It has not been a good experience. My neighbors have consistently played really loud music in the middle of the night or had neighbors shouting, yelling and slamming of doors over and over again. I have reported my concerns to management and received no response in return. The halls of the building often smell like weed. I'm most frustrated with the staff who have been severely unhelpful with my questions or maintenance requests. I've had to send repeated emails, calls and visits to the office all to be told "I don't know the answer, I need to ask someone else. I will get back to you." I have never gotten a response back initiated by the staff. I have sent multiple emails about charges in my account and have not gotten any response. I do not plan to renew my lease. I was hopeful about this community being a long term place to call home. It has been utterly disappointing and frustrating.

Staff is absolutely horrible what's even worse is the living quality of the apartments, I'd never recommend summer house to anyone not even my worst enemy! I'm living in mold ray infested apartment and staff does not give one care about it , I have kids who have to live like this. Property management is horrendous.

The online marketing is so good. I have not had any issues except they don't have a/c here. They do a decent job at keeping up the apartments. The price and what you have to pay on your lease is different. Online it's advertised at $2400 but when I signed my lease it said $2606. I feel there needs to be more lighting in the parking lot. I can't hardly see leaving out at night for work. Your packages will get stolen if mistakenly not left in the luxerone box. They continue to pop open the mailboxes in the apartments.

There have been several reports.Dishwasher broke for over 6months, Door at the end of hallway is broken where anybody can come in the building. The gate where you use the fob to enter has been broke for a year. Elevator always breaking down. People never clean up behind their dogs, you have to walk looking down so you don't step in poop. The staff is so rude and don't know the information they are ask. Park in spaces that residents are sign. Trash cans are always full where you can't put anything in there, trash be all over the ground. Always water puddles and furniture in the trash area. The gate to the leasing office is broke. There is paint cans in the area where the meters are and when it rains it hits the cans and keeps up a noise that makes it hard to sleep.

Katya has been an absolute pleasure to work with in the office. She is always helpful and you can tell she cares about Summer House. We were on the cusp of leaving but she shed a new light onto our experience. Very happy here!

I love living in the community, I just wish some security measures were taken. For example I e written in a few times about the lighting in the back parking lots and never gotten a response back. My maintenance request go ignored and I've only had one since I've moved in. Upon moving in there was no pre move in inspection.

If you like loud neighbors and barking dogs this is the place. Mail stolen every week since we've been here . Car window broken. But close to Safeway and 711 so that's good . Loud at all time of day and night in every section of every building

This is an overly broad question. Narrow it down. Overall, we are tired of the management changing every year or every two years. The dumping and garbage continues to be out of control. Those are my two main complaints.

Very good location and comfortable city but extremely bad management of the apartment. The apartment management Only collect the rent but I did not see any other services so far. We are continuing living with a lot of challenges until our lease term agreement ends. I don't recommend for any one to rent here.

The security gates are nearly always broken, the elevator in my building gets someone stuck at least once a week and the permit has expired, the mailboxes are broken into routinely, and residents don't pick up trash or dog poop. The apartment itself is fine and maintenance comes to fix things when it is broken. My neighbors in my building are great. Except for Caleb, the office staff is ever changing and not helpful. They don't answer phone calls or emails. They will tape an eviction notice to your door if you are two days late with rent. I would not recommend that anyone moves here.

DO NOT LEASE HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES

Even a 1 Star feels generous.. Do not lease here under any circumstance. Our car was broken into twice and stolen once. We see windows broken LITERALLY EVERY DAY Our mailboxes get broken into every other day and though there are supposed to be locks in the front gate they don't work. A few months ago the buildings had a mice infestation because they said they didn't set the outside traps correctly. Ever since they installed new water heaters numerous residents (including us) have been dealing with a roach problem this place is filthy, appliances have stopped working and the maintenance crew said it will be a while before they can fix it cannot wait to move! If you are thinking of an apartment complex in Alameda this is not the one you want I promise you

So far our experience has been good. The only thing mentionable would be the amount of garbage that builds up and or does not actually make it into the dumpster can be an eye sore, but other than that our experience has been good.

The apartment infrastructure is good but there is no camera to monitor the place and people in here do not have the common sense for keeping the hygiene. We however enjoy the pool and the trash pickup service and the rent is reasonable.
