Be very careful before renting or transferring units, Lawsuit
I am a current resident, and my experience has been extremely frustrating, misleading, and financially stressful. Maintenance issues: Maintenance has been inconsistent and often delayed. Basic requests required multiple follow-ups, which is not what you expect when you are paying premium rent. Court situation (very important): I fell behind on rent by about 30 days only, due to having a newborn and a death in the family. When I tried to resolve the issue and pay, I was told I needed to pay $5,200 in attorney fees. That number was later reduced to about $1,152, and the case still went all the way to court. Only when we were in front of a judge did they suddenly agree to settle the case with $0 attorney fees and $0 late fees, aside from the December rent itself. This entire situation could have been handled reasonably from the beginning instead of escalating unnecessarily. ?? Now the biggest issue — the unit transfer I tried to transfer to a larger unit within the same building. I qualified on my own and did NOT plan to add anyone else to the lease. My girlfriend was staying with me and our baby between California and New York, but I was told by leasing staff that she needed to be added “just in case.â€ I specifically asked if I could add her later — I was told no, and she was added to the application over the phone. I saw the unit around March 15 and submitted my application immediately after. I was approved on March 25. Right after approval, I was told: I had to move in between March 27–31 (no flexibility) AND I still had to follow the 30-day notice rule ?? This meant even if I moved in right away, I would still have to pay for BOTH units until around April 15, because the 30-day notice only starts after submission. ?? The problem is: I applied right away when I saw the unit — there was no way for me to give a 30-day notice in advance like their own guidelines require. ?? The financial shock They then presented the actual costs: $2,459 security deposit $2,459 rent $1,100+ overlap on my current unit ?? That’s over $6,000 upfront This was never clearly explained before applying. When I told them I could not afford that and asked to cancel: ?? They refused to return my $250 holding deposit, saying the application was open for 16 days — even though I was only approved on March 25 and canceled within days after learning the real terms.

Not Worth the Headache
I lived at the Lofts at NoHo Commons from 2021 until recently, and while I loved the location and community of residents, management made living here a nightmare. I want to offer a disclaimer that everything ALLEGELY happened so I don’t open myself up to being sued by Greystar or other parties mentioned herein. The good: The people who live here are genuinely kind and welcoming. The location is fantastic — close to NoHo arts, restaurants, and the freeways. That’s about where the positives end. The bad: Communication from the office is almost nonexistent unless you chase them down. Emails are riddled with typos, notices often never arrive, and you’ll get excuse after excuse. Silva, the property manager, is one of the rudest people I’ve ever encountered in housing. Any time I brought up legitimate concerns, I was met with hostility or brushed off. She made me feel like I was the problem for even asking. Maintenance routinely took 30+ days. My stove was broken for a month, and the replacement was also defective. When I complained to corporate that no one came to fix my stove, Silva called me to tell me how “ungrateful” I was for her and her staff and how she didn’t like that she was now forced to work overtime because of my complaint. Fire alarms went off so often no one took them seriously anymore (even the fire department) — a huge safety hazard. The pool leaks, gym equipment sat broken for years, and the dog park is often left full of trash, glass, and dog waste. Things got even worse once Greystar bought the property. Renovations were noisy, poorly done, and had to be redone constantly. Residents were locked inside their units during “walkway repairs.” Walkways still feel soft and unsafe — they were just doing patch jobs on rotting wood. Parking, once free, suddenly came with new fees ($200 for “reserved” spots no one wanted, or $120 for a second car). Garage gates were blocked for days with no notice, and vendors parked in front of fire hydrants. Other headaches: • They canceled our internet contract with almost no notice, disrupting work-from-home jobs. • Rent payments were chaotic — at one point we were told checks only, despite leases stating to make online payments. • Mail service was stopped multiple times without warning, even after a break-in. Residents missed paychecks and medications while the office shrugged it off. • Rent increases were steep and Silva told me mine was non-negotiable despite negotiating with other residents Bottom line: I really wanted to stay for the location and community, but management makes this place unbearable. Silva in particular treats residents with zero respect — hostile, dismissive, and never accountable. Even local postal workers joked they weren’t surprised I was leaving because of the building’s reputation. If you’re considering this place: don’t be fooled by the shiny exterior or sudden flood of 5-star reviews. Talk to actual residents. Most of us left because the management is unprofessional, unresponsive, and downright rude. Great location, wonderful neighbors — but unless management changes, this building isn’t worth what you’ll pay.

Terrible place to Live
I lived here for 5 years. I wouldn't live here if I were you. Car was stolen from underground parking (in addition to being broken into multiple times). the staff Never helped in any way. Packages are stolen always, and it will takes weeks to get things fixed more often then not. I had to have them fix my washer/dryer and disposal over 15 times. The maintenance man told me it should be replaced but they never did. With the exception of maybe Bryanna, the staff here is truly insufferable. Leanne is definitely the worst. She defends the fact that there are packages stolen here. She defends the building when my car was broken into. She says it happens everywhere. lol. Not at my new place. oh and they are giving me back only half of my deposit after I did a deep cleaning. Edit : I did call the office and they brushed off all my concerns including the security deposit. DID NOTHING. Gave me an attitude. Don’t fall for this BS response.

Luxury living at the Lofts at Noho! I lived here for a year and I will be honest, the building does seem super nice, it isn’t! There are ongoing issues of all sorts. I lived here for exactly one year, and heard the fire alarms go off at least 20 times. I’m still getting emails about that issue not being resolved. This was the #1 reason I left. Fire alarms at 2 am, 10 pm, 8 am, 3pm, you name it. The water has been shut off a number of times, to the entire building, for leaks? I noticed a downpour of water in the garage every time. So be careful where you park, especially if you have a motorcycle. There was also an entire weekend I spent without internet. Which was LUXURIOUS! The garage is also often filled with piles of trash for months at a time. Post Christmas there were trees in the garage until February, along with a number of large items. The staff is extremely friendly, until they aren’t. I’ve had noise issues, moved in with a number of repair issues, had a mailbox key that didn’t work for a long time, and getting help resolving the issue took months. I felt legitimately bad for the staff, until I told them I was moving out. They attempted to add a $108 monthly charge for cable for the last three months that I lived there. I don’t have cable, it’s not in my lease, and they just tried to start it in the middle of my contract. I had to have five separate conversations with them, and a printed copy of my lease in order to not be charged. I tried to schedule a move out inspection, that was never scheduled. They tried to charge me for extra rent because they didn’t tell me how to return the keys, and they were extremely rude. It’s a lot of shady/underhanded business practices. With an apartment complex that clearly needs a lot of repair that it’s not getting. For $2k, you can do better in the area.

I couldn't be happier with my new home here at the Lofts. This building and location is GREAT! The staff here is amazing, ------------------------------ all care so much for the residents and they actually pay attention!!!!! I notice that they know all the residents by name and not just by the unit number which is so rare to come by. The building is like a little community here, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I definitely see myself living here for quite a while! Thank guys :)

Had a great move in experience which started it all. Office staff was way cool which made my decision pretty easy. The place looks like a resort! Amazing pool and amenities. Haven't left the pool the past week since the weather became so nice. I work by the pool. Take a nap. Do some more work and repeat. Couldn't be happier!

The Lofts is a hidden gem in the heart of the NoHo arts district. Moved in 2 months ago and I love it. High ceilings, beautifully renovated apartment, amazing pool, I'm loving every bit of it. The entire atmosphere is so inviting and modern. The staff were so sweet and accommodating. This is going to be one amazing summer!

I recently moved in a couple of months ago and was assisted by Federico in the office who was exceptional. From the initial call when I had inquired about an available unit to the date I moved in, he was very professional and knowledgeable but at the same time made me feel very welcomed. He was a pleasure to speak with the entire time and was very thorough in showing the features of the building. He has a great sense of humor too and easy to talk to, which makes the process easier, since it can be stressful to move. I absolutely love my new place and all the amenities, especially the washer and dryer, which is a huge plus. The property even has a Olympic sized pool and cabanas for special events. I love that they also have recreational activities to help entertain your guests, but who am I kidding, I'll be the one using them most of the time, lol. One of the best things about this place is it's in a very good location in NoHo which is definitely an up & coming spot. It is right by a bunch of great restaurants within walking distance, not to mention a gym and nail salon. I couldn't ask for more :)

I've had such a great experience so far living in this beautiful place. From the time I stepped into the office everyone has been so welcoming. I found exactly what I was looking for. The ceilings are high and the space is open just like I wanted. It's hard to find open layouts in LA. Everything looks the same and repetitive after a while... Their amenities are amazing with these crazy hanging chairs in the middle of the property and this Vegas style pool. Can't wait for summer to start!

THIS IS THE BEST PLACE YOU'LL EVER LIVE! PERIOD. Everything about this place is amazing & the staff is beyond great. The leasing staff have me laughing every time I go to the office. They are so funny. They treat you like an actual person rather than just an apartment number. And can we talk about the pool & clubhouse? Absolutely stunning.

I made numerous attempts to resolve infestation issues in my unit that are toxic and hazardous. It has been a Nightmare living in Noho Commons Hell & months with an asbestos infestation unit that management refuses to do anything about. SLUM LANDLORD failed to disclose the hazards associated with the occupancy of the Residential. My Contaminated unit now under quarantine since February 2019 & they won't disclose the hazardous report. I suffered Severe conditions include respiratory illness skin rashes allergic reaction to dust mites & mold spores. Exposure to toxigenic molds, such as stachybotrys chartarum and aspergillus, produce mycotoxins that cause adverse reactions that can take years to recover.

I just turned my keys in and I am so sad to leave! Leaving because I am in need of a bigger space. This staff is wonderful!!! The office staff and the maintenance team are the best people and leasing staff you will ever encounter. You will fall in love with the amenities here. They just finished all the renovations and they have definitely outdid themselves. I hope to come back soon!

1/5/2019 LOFTS@ NOHO ARE SLUM LANDLORDS.. Im a teneant myeslf. And my floor has bubbles and cracks in it, My Apppliances: refrigerator makes noise all through the night, My dishwasher has never worked, my washing machine shakes very loudly, the vent from the dryer was broken for 4 months...i didnt know i was breathing in toxic chemicals... I had to go to the emergency room because of chess issues, was told that i might have a case of early COPD ... im still taking more test........The Property Management company "Polaris" was hired by property owners to look out for the interst of the property owners. #1: When you apply for an apartmaent and then taking on a tour of the property, you're shown a model apartmant that has canvas floors and new apppliances, but when you get the keys to your apartment their are no new apliances.. #2:On top of that Polaris uses illegal tactics like Not letting the new tenants know that their is a mandatory Tv and cable charge of $106. new tenants arent told this until they have filled the application and approved. basically they wait until you have agreed to move in, then they tell you, that you have to buy internet and tv service through them, even if you dont need it.. which means every tenant has two internet bils, one for the phone and one for their apartment. #3Polaris charges an illegal internet connection fee of $50.00 they dont connect anything, when the independent cable company ("Bel Air") comes to connect your internet they also charge an additonal $25 connetion fee which is understandable because their doing the connection but Polaris not so much. #4 utility bills Polaris charges tenants a monthly Trash Charge that ranges from $25 to $50. Tenants are charged 2 different monthly water charges (allocated wastewater) and (Allocated water) addditional $50. The interesting thing abouth this is your apartment dont have a meter....which means Property owners are receiving a monthly water bill from california department of water and power and dividing it up amongst tenants. you're still being illegally charged for water that you dont consume. SCAM ALERT The head Guy at the management Company is Adam who comes off as caring but his actions says different, second in Charge Is Alexandra, very mean, cares nothing about tenants, she handles all the dirty work for the owners and seems like she enjoys it....a few other employees in the office stay on the property inside the low income apartments... so you know they will do whatever Polaris demands of them. The whole team are incompetent big time liers, that cares less about tenants. Ive reached out to the department of housing concerning the illegal tactics That Polaris managemnet uses to attract tenants and HOW THEY TREAT CUTRRENT TENANTS... Property owners are being investigated as well P.s I recently had my air filters changed and was shocked to see that they hadnt been changed since 2016. if you are a tenant please request a filter change and once its replaced look at the date of the one thats being replaced,... shocking Polaris hires illegal immigrants as well. I was told by one of the women who recently traveled from Venezuela, she said the reason we see different workers every week is because they only pay the ladies $6.50 a hour and they must work 6 days a week.

I moved here because it's the "New Cool Hollywood." That's how I describe this area to my family and friends. I got into an incredible apartment which gives me my East Coast Vibe with the West Coast Love. It looks like I live at a resort. My place is a studio which I had a curtain added (which they offered) to make me a crazy modern 1 bedroom. The whole are has such a cool vibe it really makes it so you don't have to travel anywhere. One of my favorite parts is that the Metro is so close so I can jump downtown in a flash. Had the pleasure of working with a pretty chill crew. The Manager was wicked funny and my leasing agent Jamald helped make my decision to move-in easy. I forgot the other guys name who also helped me out but I appreciate the crew they had on deck. I'm very picky and they had people cleaning everything when I was touring which goes to show that management really cares about the building. I look forward to enjoying my summer hanging at the pool in the amazing LA weather.

Lived here at the Lofts for now over two years and I really like the changes they are making. The property itself is a work of art, literally. My place looks like a combination of a Manhattan Penthouse and a Upscale LA apartment. Everyone that comes by is always taken back at how amazing it looks. The staff looks like they're making a change for the better. Today I was greeted by Federico who was so nice and helpful. I also had the pleasure of meeting the onsite manager Adam. His positive aura and happiness is so contagious it made my day. They have a good thing going over here and I'm glad I call it my home.

've lived here for almost 4 years. But I think when my lease is up I am going to leave. This complex was recently purchased by Polaris Property Management and to say they are a terrible management company is a huge understatement. They do not care about the residents that already live here. They've started a giant renovation project with no care to how the noise disturbs all it's tenants. They claim construction is only to happen between 9am-5pm, but the jack hammering starts at 8am and goes on til 9pm at night. When a resident spoke to one of the workers and showed him the letter from Polaris stating what the work hours should be he says that they were never given those parameters. I've put in multiple work orders that have been ignored or severely delayed because Polaris is extremely understaffed. Emails that go to the manager are routinely ignored for days and days. Trying to get the manager, Brandi Tillman, on the phone is impossible. She doesn't even respond to emails anymore. Run away from this place. Yes, the location is great- yes the amenities are good (when they are working and available) but they will jack your rent up every year like crazy. We are paying $500 more a month than when we first moved in 3.5 years ago. It is not worth the headache and all the irritation you will have to live here. You've been warned.
