Unless you can take advantage of a large promotion (e.g., several weeks of rent free), I would not recommend living here. EV appears to be trying to be a premium/luxury apartment building, but, for the price EV charges, there are far too many issues, including: 1. Sound Proofing. The sound proofing between floors is horrible. I like the laminate flooring (as opposed to carpet), but I can hear the people in the apartment above me even when they are simply walking around. On the other hand, although the apartment building is adjacent to the Quartyard, I almost never hear it. I also almost never hear the people with apartments on either side of me, so the sound proofing between adjacent apartments appears to be fairly good. 2. Elevators. There are two main elevators that service most of the building. The wait time for them is sometimes horrible, especially if one of those elevators is reserved for someone moving in. The elevator floors also seem to be regularly covered in puddles of dog urine since the building is pet-friendly. The building is great for people with large dogs, but not so great for everyone else. 3. Parking. No guest parking spots or temporary guest parking is a big negative. There are also no assigned spots, which I don't particularly mind, but there are some advantages to having assigned parking. 4. Staff/Staff Hours. The staff have limited hours, and there appears to be no on-site building manager or maintenance person. If you have an issue after hours, you are asked to call a telephone number and speak to an incredibly unhelpful person whose main job appears to be asking for all your contact information so that someone can contact you when the office is open again. If you have an urgent problem, it's frustrating to go through 20 questions about your contact information before even being able to relay your problem. Even then, there's nothing the person can do other than say someone will contact you later. The staff are also not very responsive over email, which makes the problem worse. Generally, my interactions with the staff in person have been fine, but when a few residents happen to come down with problems simultaneously, the staff also becomes overwhelmed very quickly. I would not be surprised if the staff receives little to no formal training.
