Depending on where you are moving from and your expectations of living in san francisco, this place can be great or below average. my experience at lakewood has been pretty good. the appliances were great, i had my own free parking spot in the garage (not typical in SF), speedy and friendly maintenance and residential service, great amenities, close to everything necessary - BART, MUNI, stonestown mall, 280 freeway, Lake Merced and Ocean Beach. <br>Lakewood is not the cleanest on the inside, but neither are some smaller apt building in the downtown area where you won't get as much for your money. Safety hasn't been an issue for me, but there were some breakins to cars parked on the street (which at certain points are very dark). <br>The neighborhood is foggy and chilly most of the time since it's right next to the ocean, but on clear days it's awesome to have the Lake and the Beach so close. <br>Overall, Lakewood is a great place to live if you have a car in the city, will be commuting and you don't want to walk past homeless people everytime you arrive home.
