New to Denver, this was a god choice for the floor plan & community. Maintenance does get handled, not always as timely as I would hope. Rent seems steep; however overall cost of living is more expensive in Denver. Great neighborhood. Generally quiet streets, except for the units across from the Tavern bar & grill. Thursday night is ladies night and it can get LOUD. Overall happy with this living space, despite the negative comments. Would recommend to a young family or couple looking for a townhome feel.

I have lived here for almost 5 years total and I don't know what has happened with the front office but management is terrible! They never return calls, they don't seem to have any clue as to what's going on - ever, I have called a few times and the phone has been disconnected, it's exhausting trying to get anything done!!! I call and call and call and email and email and the only time that I ever get a response is when THEY need something. I was trying to sign new paperwork for TWO MONTHS and they finally figured it out the day that my paperwork was due and called/emailed me at 5:05 PM and said that I have until 6 to get there to sign the new paperwork when I had been asking for months for it or they would put me on month to month when it was their fault I didn't have any paperwork!!! I will NOT be renewing here. My garage door is currently broken....let's see how long it takes them to fix it....

If you are considering Alara Greenwood Village, I would strongly recommend that you look elsewhere. The quality of the improvements facilities and Management Team (Riverstone Residential Group RRG ) are all below what you would expect in this part of town and at these leasing rates that they charge. Just in case you need more references on how RRG typically does business, give these web pages a visit: http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/riverstone-residential-group-c314771.html http://www.yelp.com/biz/riverstone-residential-group-lynnwood http://www.ripoffreport.com/r/Riverstone-Residential-Group/internet/Riverstone-Residential-Group-deposits-cleaning-charge-false-lies-Internet-994810 http://katysexposure.wordpress.com/2010/04/06/complaints-board-com-riverstone-residential-group-complaints-invalid-billing-upon-move-out/ All you have to do is Google Riverstone Residential Group reviews to get pages and pages of additional information. A search on Alara Greenwood Village will get you similar information. Do yourself a favor GO SOMEHWERE ELSE!!!!! there are plenty of quality properties and management companies all within the CC school district that you can choose from.

Brookside Village is now known as Alara and although the name has changed it appears that not much else has. I am concerned about possible malfeasance regarding application, security deposit, and misrepresentation. I will investigate and share findings. Please post comment if you have similar experience.

Counting the days until I can leave the rude management behind!!!!
This community is now called Alara at Greenwood Village and is now managed by Riverstone. When my husband and I first moved in (when it was still Brookside Village), there were problems with our apartment but the management was great so we let it slide. When Riverstone took over, a friend of mine who worked in property management told me they were such a great company that they would do tons of upgrades, so I was pretty excited and optimistic. This was NOT the case. First of all, the new management is RUDE, ignorant and lazy. The pool and hot tub were not cleaned for over a year the first year that they took over, and they closed down the tanning room that had been one of the amenities sold to us as a perk to living here. They have been promising that the falling apart gym equipment was being replaced for over a year now. The last time I inquired about it, they promised it would be done by September, yet here it is more then 1/2 way through the month and they haven't even started renovating (which falls in line with the 10 other times they promised it would beā¦Ā See More>10/2/2014

I live in Brookside Village and I happen to love it here. my wife and I are very pleased with everything. the management is very understanding and willing to help if there is a need. the property was recently sold so I hope the new owners are as good as the last ones. they let you live and help you if necessary. we're not really needy so I guess we don't see the other problems everyone else does. if we could buy our unit, we'd LOVE TO! only issue, people that live here have no respect for the property. they're lazy and pile their trash up outside the dumpster. but it picks up Mon, Wed, and Fri, so it's not there long. but the weekends can get a little dirty...

I'd rather sleep on the streets!
The company I work for put me up here for a couple months. First I would like to say the finishes in the room itself are as cheap as they come. The place is falling apart the veneers on the counters are peeling off in all the rooms. The premium price for a ---- hole can be over looked but my fire alarm hung from the ceiling for a month, thanks for keeping me safe maitenance I can tell you care. Parking is NOT even close to sufficient unles you drive a one seat Flintson mobile, and the city of Greenwood will tow your car if you park along the curb inside the complex. Don't expect help from management, in case their incompetence wasn't enough they are rude to boot once they have your name on a contract. Bottom line is spending a night sleeping on the streets would be less frustrating and degrading than having to deal with any one associated with Brookside Village!!!

Great place to live!!!!! (if you like being treated like a worthless renter)
I have lived here for a year now and it just gets worse. The maintenance isn't to bad, but the grounds are trashed. There is NO visitor parking spaces so don't expect company. Everyone in the office is really really rude other than the main manager. It's way to overpriced. but it is nice to have a private garage. I would deffinately not recomend living here, i'm getting out asap and i recomend the same to ALL!

Pigeons beware
Keep in mind that I lived here a while ago, but I have some real horror stories to tell. What finally made us move out was the pigeons. My husband and I regularly walked around the block each evening. We began finding dead pigeons on the sidewalk. Months later, we received correspondence from the management letting us know that they would be setting out pigeon food with a drug that caused mild anxiety. It warned that the drug might cause death if the pigeons ate too much. I suppose that they had been poisoning pigeons for a while until someone caught them at it. Or maybe someone's dog died from eating a poisoned pigeon? One Sunday morning I was awakened by shouting and banging on the walls of my (upstairs) bedroom. The staff had hired painters to touch up the exterior that week. They did not warn me that the painters would be looking in my bedroom window on a Sunday. The window was in the arch of the vaulted ceiling and had no blinds, so I couldn't have closed it in any case. (Luckily I wasn't sleeping in the nude!) I had a lot of issues with the clothes washer. It's a bad place...
I guarantee you that if you could somehow poll the most recent residents of this place they would rank this as one of the worst places for the money. I agree there are worse places but to spend 1,350 per month for a very small shabby place, not to mention the hidden costs and inconviences that cost $, you'd be better off looking a bit farther from the tech center. Personally, I would suggest that anyone who looks at the "model" of this place, should ask to see the actual apartment they would be renting. There are a number of people here that have had to fight to get what they thought they were getting...please, ask for a guarantee to get what you see. I assure you they will not accomodate you! The model is nice but nothing like you'll get!!! My experience here has been bad. The apt. is old and has low quality appliances and fixtures. Maintenance and management in general is poor here and traffic is bad...in the mornings and afternoons it is HORRIBLE...even if you work 5 miles from the place like I do - (30 min. avg.- I swear!!!) Rush-hour is a beast here andā¦Ā See More>anonymous

Renter beware
We selected the location because it is close to work and has attached garages. We have not been able to use our garage or driveway since May 2006 due to "structural damage" to the building and work to repair. The project was to be a two week inconvenience, we were asked to load everything from our garage into a "POD" "temporarily" that was placed in our driveway and to park "illegally" on the street during this time. (on n the street with posted "Do Not Park" street signs) Two weeks went by then two months and it is now Jan 2008, we still have a "POD" in our driveway, we have to park where we can, we must walk with all of our groceries and purchases around the building and through the courtyard. Accessing our items in storage is difficult. It is a total inconvenience especially since the attached garage was one of the main reasons we selected this property over others. Three of the four tenants have moved out and Management doesn't care nor do they follow through or communicate what is going on, we have to call them regularly or ask the contractors, when they show up, what isā¦Ā See More>anonymous

THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This place is terrible. Find another place. Beware, do not rent from this place. Upon moving into this place, the place was a mess. The rugs were filthy, with oil stains all over the place. The toilets were not coonected to the wall, the shower head fell off during my first shower and almost hit me in the head. The counter top in the kitchen cae off the molding. The dishwasher was broke and had parts missing. The blinds and windows were so dirty we thought we had tinted windows. The heat in our apartment broke down over 3 times during the winter and the walls are paper thin. The staff is rude and unproffesional and the maintence guy is creepy and slow. Pool is way too small and there is dog ---- all over the grounds. The mail boxes have bben broken into many times and also other apartments have been broken into as well. Not a safe place to live. I would recommend living somewhere else and save the headaches. This place is a zero and the staff is a -1. Im outta here....Finally

Only $1000 per month huh?
I've lived at Brookside for about 3 years now, and absolutly love it! And, it has to be said that $1,000 per month is a pretty good deal in the DTC considering the rental market right now. I've never had a problem with a staff member, and they have always been pleasent with me. The only thing that I could live without are certain plebeian tenants who only know how to complain.

This management company keeps surprising even me
I have to say, the management company at this complex continually surprises me. Keep in mind I am paying $1000 a month for a one bedroom apt. Add to that, the washer and dryer are over 10 years old, and the dishwasher is even older. There is a great big hole in the middle of the living room that is only covered up by carpet. And I have tried to get the dryer replaced twice now because it doesn't work. Both times the management company has said no, we can't afford to replace it. Today, they send a letter out to every resident telling us that they are remodeling the club house, putting in new flooring, new furniture, and a nice new pool table. But wait, we still aren't replacing any of the old appliances in the apartments, we don't care about the tenants, we need the public to think we are a reputable company, so instead of spending the money on repairing the apartments, we are going to remodel the clubhouse. I dare one member of the management company to please tell me I am wrong, that this is notā¦Ā See More>anonymous

I love Brookside!!!
I've lived at Brookside Village for 5 years and have had a really great experience. I would like to thank the office and maintenance staff for making my 5 years at Brookside fabulous! I have personally found the staff to be helpful and willing to help when needed. I am sad to be leaving as I have purchased a home. But trust me, I will be referring family and friends your way. Thank you Brookside!

Update on my review
I have to update my review of Alara (formerly Brookside). Originally I had asked them if they could drop off some paint and I would paint my apartment, but they actually offered to have movers come in, move everything out, and then have the painters (Jeff Hixson) and carpet company (Arbor Carpet) come in and replace all of the carpet and paint the entire apartment, then had the movers come back and move everything back in. It was their way of saying thanks for being a long-term tenant. I give kudos to them, that was way more than I asked for, and I really appreciated the extra effort they went through (we re-scheduled the work so I could be off-site at a conference while they did it). I have to say, the carpet people did a fantastic job with the carpet, it looks awesome. As far as the painter goes, Jeff Hixson, this guy is the reason why we should be supporting our small businesses in Colorado. This is the 2nd time he's (his company) has painted my apartment, he did a couple of accent walls 3 years ago. I can't speak highly enough ofā¦Ā See More>tcarten

Building are cheap Maintenance going down hill
Last year I would have recommended Brookside Village. However lately I've had too many maintenance problems and have had to wait extremely too long to get them fix, if they even bother to fix them. The fixtures and appliances are cheap. The only convenance is the attached garage. But for the price it's not worth it. I'll be moving out when my lease runs out this year (2008).

Great Community
My husband and I moved into Brookside a month ago and have been very happy with our experience so far. The maintenance staff have been very kind and professional. We love our apartment and the amount of room we have. The office staff have been easy to work with and very friendly and helpful. We moved from out of state and are in the process of purchasing a home. Brookside has made our transition easy. Thank you Brookside!

Good Location, bad management
I moved here because its got a good location for my job and because they allow 2 pets. The apartment is OK, nothing great, but a decent place to live. The issue is and always has been the office staff. Friendly while trying to get you into an apartment but once you move in they just don't care. Maintenance staff has been pretty decent, no complaints. Office staff has been well below what you'd expect for what you pay.
