To start, I highly recommend dealing with them over email whenever possible to maintain a record of the conversations. If you go to the office to discuss things or call they will promise you things that will not happen. While they won't reply to your emails either, you will at least have documentation in case it is needed at a later date. I lived there for 2 years. The apartment itself had a very functional layout and the location across from restaurants is great, but the interaction with the office staff was horrendous. While they are nice people that always have a smile on their face, they do not get things done and never took responsibility. Here are a few examples: 1) It took just under 4 months to receive my security deposit refund. The amount was not the full amount, and I did not receive anything itemized as to where the money went. I have been requesting an explanation as to why I did not receive the full amount. They have been telling me that the delay was due to a change of systems and they can't access my records. This has been going on for almost two months now with no response by them to any of my follow ups 2) I had automatic payment set up. Their system had an error where it didn't accept automatic payments one month. I wasn't able to pay online "late" and they don't have a drop box, so I had to leave work early to make it to the office while they are open to drop off a physical check. Very inconvenient for a working professional, and throughout they insisted that it wasn't their fault and were not willing to work with me to find another solution that worked with my work schedule, i.e. a couple of days later on a weekend without assessing a late fee 3) The staff is not aware how to calculate pro-rated rent. This happened numerous times to me, once in my favor, once costing me a couple dollars more. While I showed them the math and why they were wrong, they insisted I was wrong (I'm a finance professional) and said that it was a very complicated computation which I wouldn't understand but they couldn't show me. Because it was only a couple of dollars I decided it wasn't worth my time 4) If you ever went to the office (to pick up a package, question on something) there was often no one there as they were out selling apartments. There was often a very extended wait time as they fail to staff appropriately 5) The apartments look nice, but are generally cheaply built/maintained. As an example, my screen door to the patio was not the right size so it wouldn't shut completely letting bugs in and I could not lock it as it didn't line up. Also, there was what appeared to be a hole in the wall patched with duct tape and then painted over 6) As others mentioned, the pool was closed for extended periods on two separate occasions. 7) The gym, while now open according to other posts, was closed from mid-January 2016 until the time I moved out end of July. Crazy long time to fix a busted pipe and get the facility open to residents. The whole thing seemed indicative to how they value current residents once they get you into the apartments 8) While the gym was open there was a safety issue with one of the machines. I notified a member of the staff and he told me there was nothing he could do about it and that I should submit a ticket to maintenance (instead of him calling them) I could go on, multiple more issues, but this is already too long. As others have pointed out, there have been changes in personnel, but the issues/problems have not changed.
