Spectacular Community
Upon arriving to Milford Beach Apartments, the curb appeal looks spectacular. It's a family-oriented location and it is evident that management and maintenance care for their community. In meeting Ms. Summers, she was extremely professional, honest and transparent. She answered all my questions and concerns and made me feel welcomed in her office. She is very knowledgeable, and I was impressed that safety is her first priority. After viewing the premises and meeting Ms. Summers I am looking forward in becoming a part of this community. Milford Beach apartments is blessed to have Ms. Summers as the leasing agent. Jose

Except fro about 6 months, I have been living in this apartment complex from March 2001 to July 2013 in two different units. In general, I like its environment (very close to walnut beach and silver sand state park); Especially, if you have a young child before elementary school age, the large property lawn proximity to the beach are definately a plus. Also, I found its pricing is one of the most competitive (with water, heating, and coocking gas included in the rent). Albeit, the biggest complaint I have is that these units were fabricated back in the 1970s with literally no sound insulation between floors. You can easily "echo locate" the guy walking upstairs and even hear the conversation. It took me a while to get used to it. I did feel that, since the last financial and economic recession, the complex seems to have been financially hit and the service quality deteriorated to certain extent. Occasionally, teenagers from neighbouring low class families can come and steal your bike on the deck. It happended to me once. It is a convenient and low cost living option. It is not perfect but definately a choice worthy consideration.

There is absolutely no privacy at all. The walls are paper thin! There is no parking for visitors at all especially on the East Broadway side. The residents park in the spots and do not move. If they do it is for their spouse's to move into the spots. Visitors have to park on the road and walk. If you have elderly visitors do not waste your time moving in. The office is aware and does not care. Just pay your rent. Nothing has been done and they have received lots of complaints. They don't care.

DO NOT APPLY HERE !!!! IS A SCAM!!!!!! THEY DONT HAVE APARTMENTS AVAILABLE, ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR 30.00 APPLICATION FEE, OR 60.00 IF IS A COUPLE. AND THEY CALL YOU 2 DAYS AFTER AND TELL YOU THAT YOU ARE NOT APPROVED, AND THAT YOU NEED A CO-SIGNER. DONT FALL FOR THIS. ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY, THEY ARE NOT GOING TO GIVE YOU SH.....T!!!!! THATS WHY THE APPLICATION FEE IS 30.00 NON-REFUNDABLE.

Great Beach Front Aparment
I have been leaving here for 2 years and I absolutely love the place. We are about 500 yards from the beach. We get nice a ocean breeze all year round. The grounds are well kept. Apartments are clean and spacious with plenty of closet space. Laundry is very convenient just make sure you have plenty of quarters. The only reason we are moving is because we are buying a house. I highly recommend these apartments you are steps from beach. Try to get an apartment with a window facing the ocean and one close to the laundry room.

NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!
I rented here for a year two years ago. They are old apartments, not build to current standards, poorly lit courtyards, minimal parking and have very thin walls!! The heating & air-conditioning in these apartments are old, not sized correctly to the apartments & definetly NOT energy efficient. To get any repairs done in your place, you have to call maintenance several times to get anything done. When they did show up, they had to come back several times to fix it correctly! The leasing office was rude & didnt seem to care when a tenant calls with and issue. They barely return calls or fix problems. A lot of break ins have occured at these apartments ( mostly on Joy RD side).

If you are a boring person, you will like it here.
Just as with probably any apartment owned by a large company, you are better off being a good little tenant who follows all the rules. This place is not for you if: you like having pets and you like trying to have a container garden on your deck. Another problem is that there is a terrible draft around all the windows in the winter and I'm sure heat comes in around them in the hot weather. Since the heat is included in the rent, maybe one shouldn't whine. But wouldn't it be cheaper in the long run to fix the draft problem? Keeping the AC on is expensive but necessary and wastes fuel. I agree with an above writer about the lack of timely plowing during the winter storm. Right now all my plants are in the apt. while we wait for the promised sticker on our sliding door to signal that power washing and painting of our deck is finished. It would be appreciated if the management would let us know WAY in advance about having to clear off the decks in the middle of the growing season; say, in April or early May. I do love being so near theā¦Ā See More>anonymous

Don't believe angry people!
Great location. Love the apartment... nice size, private balcony, lots of closets, and bright with a good number of windows and slider door. I love living here the management and maintenance are really nice people. Worth the extra money to live by the beach. Worth schlepping clothes to laundry mat to live here. Not going to move anytime soon.

DO NOT rent, you will save yourself some money. Please read below.
This apartment seemed like the perfect place for us. We have two small children and it's situated right by the beach. However, the apartment was in need of repairs- including a tile in the bathroom that was broken in three places- which the manager said would be done. It's a year later, and NONE of the repairs that should have been done before we moved in have been done. Our tap broke in the bathroom and it took them two days to come out and fix it- this while scalding hot water was pouring out of the bathtub and moulding the house. The front door also was able to be pushed wide open without using a key, and it took them three tries to get it fixed. The main office manager, named Mary Jo, is the rudest woman I have ever had the misfortune to meet. She is condescending, and the complex itself thinks it's better than it really is. The washers and dryers in the laundry rooms *and i use that term loosely* never work. The most you'll get is probably one washer and one dryer, for a complex of eight to ten buildings with four families in each.ā¦Ā See More>anonymous

Great Location
I felt like I was on vaction living there in the summertime! The pool and beach were awesome. Just grab a chair and walk to both! When I moved in the place was immaculate, they painted , refinished the hardwood floor and cleaned everything. My one bedroom apartment had 5 closets and a slider door opening to my private balcony. The floorplan was open and spacious. Five minute drive to stores and restaurants in Stratford or Downtown Milford. Nice and bright streets at night. The grounds are kept well manicured and snow is plowed quickly. Maintenance is very responsive and is available 24/7! If I hadn't have to move I would still be living there!

Management is SEVERELY lacking
If you have heard the term CUSTOMER SERVICE and expect to be treated with respect, I strongly advise going elsewhere. I lived here several years ago and had a horrible experience with the manager. She was rude, condescending and could not care less about the tenants. Apparently things have not changed as I know someone who applied for an apartment, there was an error on their credit report which they had documentation to show that it was incorrect and when they called to tell the manager they had it she was downright rude and said she did not care and it did not matter the decision was made. My friend asked to speak with someone above her and she refused to give her the information. She was on the telephone during the supposed "tour" of the complex and did not offer any help what-so-ever. I have heard so many horror stories about her and yet the owners do nothing about it. Perhaps she is a family member. It is really, really sad since the apartments and the location cannot be beat. Unfortunately, I have to tell you DO NOT GO THERE.ā¦Ā See More>anonymous

Avoid Milford Beach Apartments!
A few months ago my girlfriend and I called your staff about renting. We said we have poor credit, but pay our rent on time every month, and had a co-signor a credit score that hovers at 850. We were told to come down and fill out the application. If our credit wasn't good enough, we could have him come fill out the app and use him as a co-signor. We paid the fee for the 2 applications and waited. A few days later we were rejected, and told that you never accept co-signors. Why make us go through that and pay the fee if you were going to say no unless you just wanted our money? You guys told us we would need a co-signor, and then you denied us even with said co-signor so it turns out: YOU LIED. I'm telling you this for a few reasons. First, I've found a nicer place to live that does accept co-signors. Second, I'm opening a business with a loan I secured for well over $100,000. It would've been nice to live at my 1st choice, but ---- happens, right? I mean what's a solid history of paying rent onā¦Ā See More>anonymous

Very nice area
I have living in this apartments and I have to say that I like the area, the management and you have many things (stores, all kinds) close to the apartments. The only cons is that you can hear the people on top or bottom (depending on which one you live) talking, but I recommend it.

Despite the few concerns (which you will find at any place), this was the nicest apartment that I have lived in to date and I would definately recommend that you look here. STAY AWAY...
Robert treat is the sister apt. My friend and i moved in at same time. literally 50 stray cats live under the balconies. You can hear EVERYTHING!!! TV with volume at 2 bothers neighbors. The AC and Heatpumps are from 1930 and utilize EXTENSIVE electicity. Management is useless and nothing and i mean nothing gets repaired unliess you do it your self. The quality of renters is also diminshing very, very fast. Stay away

NOT RECOMMENDED
I recently moved into the Milford Beach apartments, only to find out that I can hear the conversations of the people upstairs, I can constantly hear them walking back and forth, and the shower water switches from hot to cold. It took a month to get an appointment to fix it, and I am left with no shower for a almost a week. I called the main office which didn't help at all. I would not recommend living in this apartment.

Bad management
Lived there from 2001 till 2003.

Very spacy floorplans, large patios.

But they only force everyone to sign yearly lease, even after I lived there for a year. I accidentally signed small extention slip that they've sent after a year. Realized my mistake next day. It was an honest mistake since I was geared to move. But management wouldn't budge although paper was still unprocessed in the office. Deal is a deal.

Realizing that I now have an obligation to pay for the whole year when I wasn't going to live there I called management many times asking to advertize it since I am leaving.

They didn't do a thing just because I signed a paper and it's my obligation now.

Ended up breaking the lease and loosing the deposit and getting nasty papers from law firms hired by management.

Management is in NYC. Some company owning many apts in north-east. Just collecting rents doing minimal maintenance. Residents were signing angry petitions to management several times in the year.

Ever dirty laundries. Quite dirty beach next to the complex. Rather unpleasant.

Doors into the building were not fully closing loosing lots of heat.

Management needed
Just as with all great romances, at first things were wonderful but then where is the love? One of the better layouts, nice floors, and good maintenance crew. Management is the main issue here. Disconnect between tenants and owners. Example: Had a tenant whose spouse died and yet M.B. did not give them a rental extension, lease is up so too bad. Tenant had to move 1 week after losing their loved one because the lease was up (no breaks here). Also, all paperwork is signed "management" or "the landlord". So the mystery remains who will ever know who are the real people in charge? Drafty windows do not help in the winter and buildings shift so in our case we had the roof leak four times in two years. Save yourself the headache and look for a better bargain elsewhere.
