Great staff and community
We just moved in 1 month ago and have nothing but great things to say. From starting the touring process to moving in the leasing office was so helpful and quick in responses. They are very communicative in all ways. The property is very clean and the apartment is wonderful. So many great amenities and we are loving the area the apartment is located. Highly recommend.

E have lived here since 2019. We have been very happy here with the exception of one neighbor that lived above us. It is a beautiful complex. The landscaping is kept nicely and the setting is lovely. The 2 bedroom apartments are a great size! Plenty of room and lots of windows. I can't say enough about how great the maintenance staff is here. They are pleasant and responsive. The rent hikes in the last 2 years have been hefty. We are hoping this year will be less so. I do recommend a look if you are considering renting.

Since ownership has changed, things have really gone downhill. Tennant selection standards have gone down, parking is not regulated, garages are not regulated, they now allow pitbulls, they refuse to install entry way cameras to increase safety and reduce the rampant theft of packages. The rent is too high for the value you get. We hear from residents who move out that deposits are not returned.

Dorset Crossing is a pleasant place to live. The grounds and buildings are maintained beautifully. The staff is friendly. My apartment layout is appealing and sunny. Although pets are allowed, I have never heard any excess barking.

Nice appartment but too expensive. The pool is full of kids and not worth the effort. I would love to live here if it was adults only or cheaper. They keep raising the rent so soon I will find another lease.

Quiet and comfortable
This complex is beautifully maintained and designed. I enjoy being here. The office and maintenance staff are very responsive. The units are well designed. The common areas are well cared for. The office communicates frequently by email.

Great place to live!
Friendly and responsive staff, well-maintained property, and a quiet place to live that is conveniently located near many shops in restaurants. Management is on top of communication regarding events and reminders to residents. Only downside is the limited availability of parking, particularly in the later hours of the evening. The trash and amenity fees also seem a bit unnecessary considering the price of rent. Overall a good place to live!

I love my apartment, Alexis in the office is always so kind and available for all my questions. The community is centrally located, lots of restaurants and shopping close by as well as easy access to major highways. The pool is great! I included a garage with my unit and although it is small there is enough room to store things and keep my car garaged. The snow removal was great, with the garage I didn't even need a shovel it was completely cleared. The apartments are quiet and the balcony is small but so nice for morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening.

We enjoy our apartment except for two areas. In the shower we have been scalded numerous time. This was mentioned to the office and the service personnel several times. The second area is a lack of parking spaces. Especially for visitors. This too has been mentioned to the office. Also, there is a Black Bear roaming around behind building number two. A clear danger to all who live here. Thank you.

Rent has increased each year and is now almost $600 more. No new services added. In fact, the old management asked if we wanted the rugs cleaned and our apartment repainted. We now have to buy our own light bulbs for ceiling fixtures that are not reachable without a ladder.

There has been a lot fewer social events since South Oxford Management took over. There used to be many different events hosted by the team that ran the property and now the events are rare and happen during work hours when few can attend. Additionally, the property doesn't seem as well run as it used to be. There have been some superficial changes but more critical items like plowing and salting the roads has been much slower now than it used to be

Staff are friendly and take immediate action to any issues or comments. Located in a nice, quiet area with new sidewalks connecting the community to the local commuter lot, grocery store, restaurants and bars. Only downside is you're really paying for what you get and proximity to more urban areas.

Everyone is very nice, as is the management. They need to modernize the common areas and the apartment bathrooms. They are slow to resolve issues and generally try to repair or patch over things rather than fix them. Frustrating for how expensive it is to live here. It's not uncommon to have issues left unresolved.

Moved in 2019 at a reasonable rental rate and reasonable price increases. Management changed and each year rent has gone up hundreds of dollars per month each year with deteriorating customer service and no additional amenities.

My partner and I are a young couple. We just moved to the Pointe this year, but we have absolutely loved it! The unit is very clean, management and maintenance are responsive, and the other tenants are so kind. Everything is well maintained and the fixtures are reliable. Our washing machine had some problems when we first moved in, but maintenance assessed and replaced it within the week. Very quiet at night. Highly recommend.

I think Dorsett is a wonderful community. Alexis the property manager is very accessible and supportive to all concerns and needs .That seemes to be issues in other facilities of no follow through and I have never had that concern .The property is very well maintained and every am housekeeping is cleaning hallways and grounds.I have yet to have a issues and very pleased overall.

My experience has been fine. The property is nice and well kept. The location is excellent quick access to the airport. Amenities are good though I wish they would expand the gym a bit. Parking is an issue however.

I have had a very pleasant experience - The Pointe is in a lovely area but close to a new major grocery store and quite a number of good restaurants, churches, small independent stores, the beauty of the Farmington River and easy access to Bradley International Airport.

Poor Living, Make a Better Choice!
As a resident of this community since 2018, I can confidently say that this community has gone way down since South Oxford Management purchased the property in 2022. The grounds, including; the landscaping, the pool, and the gym is poorly kept. The pool is consistently closed due to chemical imbalances, the gym equipment is outdated, and the equipment that was added can’t be utilized because, the management staff doesn’t understand how to use it. Aside from that people are not held accountable for picking up their dog poop, an entry system that is inconvenient without your phone fully charged and/or on you at all times, and resident appreciation is scheduled during hours when a typical person is working. Since South Oxford Management took over this property the resident events tare scheduled and planned without little thought and what seems like a shoe string budget. For example, a Kona Ice Truck showed up for only an hour and the community only offered to pay for the first 100 cones. This community has well over 100 residents and between 2:30-3:30 on a Saturday, who’s home to take advantage of that - most people are out enjoying their weekend. The cleanliness of the… See More>8/14/2023

It is not great. The apartment is average but there is always something wrong: whether the shower continuously drips or the sink doesn't work properly. The property management team is horrendous! The parking is a nightmare and there aren't enough spots for all of the residents. They continue to raise prices for everything despite already paying a lot for certain amenities.

RENTER BEWARE
We’ve lived here for 4 years…Look elsewhere if you can ! New management has allowed this place to fall apart…corporate mentality and WILL gaslight you for bringing up concerns. Non-existent maintenance, don’t hold your breathe for maintenance concerns. Grass is dying, dog park is falling apart and grounds have gotten unsanitary. No one else held accountable and management NEVER takes responsibility for anything. For $2400/month (before utilities) you can find someone where else. My fiancé and I bought a house just to get out of here.

Overall not good, over priced for what you get in return. Parking is the biggest problem as there are not enough spots near apartments. I pay over $2000 a month to live here and there are too many cars here and not enough spots near the buildings. Management has done little to nothing about enforcing parking or organizing it after numerous complaints. They told me to just rent a garage if I have a problem, mind you is like $200 and they are so many garage spaces available because no one wants to pay that much on top of their rent! Maybe if they started giving those out to people then it would help with the problem as so many are open. Then maybe if they also had assigned number parking spots like most other apartment complexes this wouldn't be a problem.

Pretty good experience so far
I am a relatively new resident and have enjoyed my time so far. Although I havent had many interactions with the staff they seem nice when I have interacted with them. The apartments are in pretty good shape. My main issue is with the parking as it seems there are not enough spots for all the residents + guests or other residents are leaving unregistered vehicles in the resident parking. I like that the location being close to Simsbury center though more side walks would be better to make it easier to walk around the outside of the complex. Also I think they maybe could use some more security. While there is a long drive way to the complex, I havent seen any security cameras around the outside. While I dont want the cameras to spy on my every move, it may be nice to have some in case of accidents in the parking areas or porch pirates trying to steal from the apartment lobbies.
