Worst mistake of life

This is one of worst apartments, they don’t do any maintenance, it’s been over 15 days we moved in and they didn’t fix the heat or dishwasher. I did hundred of follow up on phone, text, email but they don’t bother. You escalate the issue but no one cares. When I moved in unit was not cleaned and still have tons of issues.

Stay away!

Management is terrible. They don't care, they lie, and do not take care of the place. Garbage situation is terrible...and nobody recycles properly. The non assigned parking kinda sucks. There are cars with flat tires taking up spaces. People blaring their car stereos. Playground is unsafe, broken glass and garbage everywhere. kids (teens) from surrounding areas access it through the trail. they bring snacks, make fires, leave a mess. Dog park is not maintained. We had birds living in our laundry room. (a mom with its babies made a nest behind our dryer). After someone came to take care of it, we found a dead baby bird under the dryer. We couldn't use the washing machine all winter because of pipes freezing. but they didn't fix anything!!

Just No

The staff does not maintain the property. Management does not respond to complaints. They do not plow in the winter to make sure walkways are safe. They willfully ignore complaints about safety, pet feces, and noise.

Good apartment, great staff, neighbor complex bad, high rent

I like the apartment. It is spacious. Like the private entrance and two floor design of the two bedroom. Like the 1.5 baths. Yes, its a little drafty. But its ok. The office staff is superb!!!!! Very responsive and friendly. My big problem? Location. My apartment is directly next door to Parkwest Apts. In December they had two drug dealer arrests. Also the speed bump for their driveway is right under my daughters' window. All you hear are cars hitting the bump at full speed. Then they decided to raise the rent by $50!!!!! Thats a lot of money to raise it. I'm moving. Sorry to go but...

Not bad at all for the price....

Everything in CT is exhorbitantly expensive, so I jumped at this place when I found out it was only $695 per month -- that was back in 2007, and my rent has since gone up to $720. I would continue to live here, despite the minor annoyances, if I weren't moving out of state next month. The place is really drafty, and I had to put up my own DIY window insulation to keep heating costs down during the winter. The walls are also very thin, and I can hear everything --- and I mean EVERYTHING (my downstairs neighbor's cuckoo clock, his sneezing, his coughing, his tv, his girlfriend, his phone ringing, his romantic extracurricular activities, etc., etc., etc. That being said, the area is not bad considering that it's right outside of Rockville; I've never felt worried or unsafe, especially since I am a single woman. The management is also superb, and the maintenance as well. Any and every issue I've had has been fixed with no complaints, and Judy and Donna are very friendly and helpful. This place isn't luxury by any means, but if you're looking for a safe and clean place, quirks included, and a reasonable price, this is a place worth checking out.

Nice apartments, friendly management.

I've lived at Westar for four years and will miss the place very much. The property managers are friendly, and the few problems that came up were quickly resolved. I'm moving out of state and wish I could transport this apartment with me. Although this was my fourth apartment, it was, by far, my favorite. I occupied a one bedroom (decent sized), and the huge walk-in closet was a plus. I used it as a meditation room, and stored my clothes in the living room closet. In short, there is ample storage space. The living room/dining room combo is also nice, as I could use the space to suit my personal needs. There were only a few small cons. One, in the winter, I found the living room area to be drafty, but, then again, I'm not good with the cold temps. Also, while the complex is pretty quiet, sometimes I could hear my upstairs neighbors or people being loud in the parking lot. However, I must stress that these noise issues were very infrequent, and typical of most complexes. The place is safe, providing flood lights at night, and I think the rent is reasonable for the area. In summary, I highly recommend Westar to potential renters.

Not good.

It's drafty, they do a poor job at snow removal in the winter, and I did complain about the small silver bugs many times but nothing they did ever made them go away. Avoid this place!

Fantastic!

I lived at Westar for 3 years and loved it, the office staff were so nice and I always got things fixed immediately if they broke. Parking is just so-so but the parking lots were plowed and my walk was always shoveled. The only reason I left was because I moved in with my boyfriend in another town, but I still miss my apartment. They are absolutely beautiful, spacious with big walk in closets...can't beat it.

I lived there for eght years and loved it. There is plenty of walking areas, public transportation, and considerate neighbors.<br>I moved out of state so I can appreciate the<br>management staff,I must say they were on the ball.<br>I would live there again in a minute!!

Wonderful

Anyone who would say they only want your money is dead wrong. I lived there for over a year then bought a house and had a wonderful experience. it´s quiet and clean and the maintenance people are prompt if and when there´s a problem..not that there were many. Highly recomended !!!!

dont live here, they cant plow or shovel walkways at all., it is dangerous slippery. They rip you off for the price and only want your money. They are very greedy. Dont ever live here!!!!!!!

Long Time Resident

I have been renting at Westar Apartments since July of 1991. I have been happy with my aprtment and the maintenance of my unit. In the 11 years I have rented with Lee & Lamont Realty the rent increases have been minimal. Most maintenance is done within 1 to 2 days of my service call and they are on call 24 hours for emergencies. Minor work has been needed to be taken care of. My apartment has been painted and the carpets have been changed during my occupancy and was done with little inconvenience. Being in an upstairs unit there is very little noise. There is lots of closet space and washer dryer hook ups for convenience. My unit is located away form the parking lot, so there is a walk to my unit. Ground maintenance could be improved. Overall it´s a nice place to live.

four years without any complaints

I found Westar in the paper while visiting the area from out of State looking for a place to live and it was much nicer than the other 2 places I looked at. Management has been great all along, always very friendly and helpful, even helped suggest restaurants in the area, told me how to get to the DMV office, etc. Rent increases have been minimal each year (rent has increased by a total of $25 over three renewals). Decent neighborhood, very residential area. A very nice bonus is that you´re only one property removed from a walking/biking/jogging trail through the woods. A few problems with appliances, maintenance, etc. that were always dealt with the same day or the next (thermostat and 1 element in stove, water heater burst, upstairs neighbor´s sink leaking down to my apartment) in a professional manner by courteous workers. Note that you´re on your own for utilities, but I didn´t have a problem with it. In 4 years I only recall seeing police there twice and both were minor domestic disturbances I believe. Minimal washer/dryers, but they work and a lot of people have their own machines in their apartment (you can have hookups), I only had to wait once for machines. Plenty of parking for guests. Very highly recommended.
