A nice place to live

I've lived here 2 years and am wondering if some of the bad reviews were written by the competition or perhaps different parts of the complex experience different things. I live near the front of the complex. I've NEVER had a noise problem. Of course I live on the top floor but I never hear my neighbors below or next to me. My neighbors next door have said the same of us. I love the door-to-door trash pick-up and while the lawn care people could sweep the entryways when they cut the grass, the sidewalks themselves are kept very clean. Our apartment had a leak but it was fixed within the week. Our air, heat and everything else works fine. The office staff is courteous and while I can't say for sure that any racism doesn't exist, I haven't experienced that. Whenever we've called for Pest Control, we come home to a card telling us they've been there, and several dead roaches over the next couple days. We don't have a lot of kids or pets in our area so perhaps those buildings that do have more need of the Pest Control services. We've called them 3 times in 2 years. The parking is much more adequate than many other apartments I've seen. You're not restricted (that I can remember) to how many cars you can have and you can always find a space. You might have to walk if you come in late, but not what I would consider far unless you're elderly, disabled or perhaps extremely overweight. On evenings when I've been very tired, the walk does seem far. Smile. My washer & dryer have always worked well and it's so convenient having them in the apartment. The lighting is great except for the back wooded areas (who would be back there anyway?) Once when one of our internal community street lights was out, I called the office and it was fixed by the end of the week. The gym is great! Just check the kids playroom area. Once in 2 years I found a teenager sleeping in there. I think he lived in the complex and had stayed out all night and was probably trying to "hide" from his parents. He left when I came in and I haven't experienced that since. The grounds are lovely and well-kept - at least the parts I've walked in. My only complaint is how far out it is and that's not the fault of Colonial Grand. If I move when my lease is up, it will only be to move closer into Tampa.
