Resident 2007 - 2008

READ THIS REVIEW! EVERYTHING THAT IS MENTIONED IS TRUTHFUL!

I lived in Post Gardens from July 2007 - July 2008. I wish I was posting with mainly positive feedback, and a positive review, however I have many things to warn others about prior to renting from Post Gardens, or any Post Properties. Lets start with the positive... the landscaping was beautiful at Post Gardens, everything was kept nice and clean from what I could see. I'm finding it hard to come up with positives here. Lets see... their residents are predominately young adults, therefore if you are young yourself this may be a great place to meet new friends and have a cook out. Oh, Post Gardens has great courtyards for grilling out. They have great security and a remote to open the gates! The Negatives (PAY CLOSE ATTENTION) 1. Move-Out is a living hell. Be prepared to pay for new carpet. Everyone, seriously, that I've spoken with whom have moved out of Post Gardens has had to pay for new carpet upon move out. Most of these people claim that there was nothing wrong with the carpet. My carpet definitely needed to be replaced so I'll admit that openly. My sister, whom lived there in another apartment, did not need hers replaced. She ended up fighting their 'collections' about the 700 bill they sent to her. They tried scaring her by jeopardising her credit score however they can not do that if you formally dispute the charge. She had to get a lawyer involved, and whatd ya know, viola, they dropped the bill! DO NOT LET THEM INTIMIDATE YOU. If you play hard ball back at them, they'll stop scheming you. Upon moveout, be sure to take pictures of every inch of that apartment for proof when/if they try and charge you wrongfully for anything! 2. If you have pets, and pay the 500 dollar pet deposit, DO NOT expect to ever see that money again. I'm sure thats the same with most complexes, but just giving you a heads up. 3. They WILL try nickel and diming you for anything and everything. That's their job, they need to make money anyway they can for the corporate offices. 4. Management: These women think they own the World, which is probably why they're hired. They speak to you in a condescending manner and try to intimidate you. Make sure, if you have a shy or introverted personality, you do not rent from them. That sounds pathetic to say, but its the truth, they'll walk all over you. 5. If you fax in your 60 day move out notice to the fax number they tell you to fax it to, make sure you keep your fax transmittal notice. This is what saved me from them getting more money out of me. They tried to say 'nope we never received your 60 day notice, too bad, you have to pay the next months rent'. Thankfully, I saved my fax note that confirmed my fax was received by them and confirmed that they were lying and trying to get money out of me. You may want to try calling after you fax in your notice to get confirmation it was received. 6. Rent prices keep going up up up. I'm sure this is happening everywhere due to the economy. I would recommend that for the prices you would pay at Post Gardens, you take your money elsewhere and buy a cute little house a little further from Buckhead. 7. Parking is terrible! Whomever designed their parking garages did a terrible job. If you come around the turn at the same time as another car in the garage, you're bound to collide since its a blind curve. I've seen multiple accidents in the garage when I lived there. Too many. 8. The Fire Alarm! Just like others have mentioned, they go off at any random time of night and will stay on for an hour. The alarm was ear piercing, especially in my apartment which was in the building attached to the leasing office. I was ticked off that at 4:00am I had to deal with the alarm however I was more ticked that this could be hurting my cat's ear drums. It seriously was that bad. 9. You have a long treck to the garbage dump. You'll have to pile your stinky trash into your car to bring it down to the dumpster at the back of the property. Whew that was a lot to write however I feel everyone needs to know. I would have wanted to read/see something like this prior to ever moving into Post Gardens. Please take what I've said seriously. Everyword of it is truth. Regardless, apartments are always a pain in the butt. This one moreso than others. Just becareful please and follow my recommendations above. Thanks! - Feel free to email me with any questions or confirmation. I stand by my word and am that serious about this review.
