Thinking about it
I'm thinking about moving into Windmont within the next month and a half. the location would be perfect for me, and the staff has been really friendly and helpful. I've been tricked before and don't want to get tricked again. The amenities sound terrific, but I still have questions, such as: how much does the water, sewage, and trash bill usually run? And is maintence efficent and knowledgable? I want to make a really informed decision. Any one got some uselful advice?

Great location and staff
I recently visited this apartment complex because of the location to 85 and 285. I was greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable sales consultant that helped me decide what apartment that would best suit my needs. I was very impressed with the professionalism. I had a great experience and hope everyone after me does as well. I guess they had a different sales person helping them that day.

I HATED THIS APARTMENT
i lived there about three years ago and still have nightmares about that hellhole. if i ever left dishes in the sink for one day, my white counter tops would be black from the ants that were all over the counter. i hope that makes your skin crawl it was disgustinG. the staff stayed in my business meaning my relationship. they loved mess and wanted to tell me everything that they swore my boyfriend was doing when i wasn't there. talk about unprofessional. i appreciated the feedback as any woman would but come on that is pushing it. they never did anything right. i tried to move like three times in the one year that i lived there. i really didn't have as much of an issue with the apt as i did with the staff. the plus is that yOu have a washer and dryer but thats the only good thing. the maintenance always tries to hit on you. uhhhhhh THIS PLACE IS HELL. BELIEVE ME I AM TRULY AN OPTIMISTIC PERSON AND WILL GIVE ANYONE THE BENEFIT OF A DOUBT BUT THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
The Good: Lived in building 5 for 5 months now. My neighbors are quiet and keep to themselves. I've had nothing but professional service from Larry S., the assistant manager. My apartment is a nice size for 1 person (740 sq. ft), I have a ceiling fan in both the bedroom and living room and I have a washer/dryer in my unit. I've never experienced a robbery, even though this is a heavily populated area. In addition, parking is generally great and I'm able to park in the same space daily. The few maintenence requests I've had have been fixed immediately.

The Bad: The ant problem is pretty bad here, but I was told that before I signed the lease. It's more to do with being in GA, which just had a bad insect problem. However, they've only appeared during the last 3 months and they are small ants, so I just use Raid to keep them at bay. I've lived in other apartments in Atlanta, and I'd rather deal with this then the ninja cockroaches that are ever present in GA (I've yet to see one in… See More>windmontcrab

Horrible....run for the hills
Lived there for 5 months and the place was infested with roaches. The general manager and the assistant mananager are unprofessional and dishonest. I had a broken water heater as soon as I moved in there and they tried to convince me I was wrong. I had to write to the owners of the property, Equitable Real Estate, to get them to take action. They even tried to convince me that I didn't have roaches...the assistant manager is Larry and he must of been out his ^%$ing mind to tell me something like that. I mean roaches were everywhere. I have never been so dissatisfied with customer service in all my life. They should fire everyone in the office and demolish that entire place.

Don't Do It!!!!
I lived here for a year, and my apartment was burglarized twice. I was a fool for staying here after the first break-in. There are always less than desirable people walking up and down Clairmont Rd. at all hours. The management office couldn't care less. They have no idea what the meaning of the word "security" is. If I were you, I'd spend my hard earned dollar somewhere more safe.

Wouldn't rent here again
Upon moving in, my apartment was nice and clean, but with a few permanent stains in the carpet and bathroom. The air filter had not been changed in years, and there was a funny smell like something had crawled into an air vent and died. I tried repeatedly to get the air filter replaced and it finally was after the third call, but not until a few days after. The maintenance staff is very slow and uncaring.

After I had already decided to move in, I was informed that I needed to pay an extra few hundred dollars on my security deposit because I had been living in a house rather than an apartment prior to moving in. This was in spite of the fact that my credit was great. I'm not keen on letting someone else hold on to my money for no good reason.

Finally, after living here a year and paying my rent on time every month, I was rewarded with a rate hike of almost $100 for the next year. So much for tennant loyalty. If they want to push out responsible tennants with ridiculous rate hikes, I won't fight back.

Suck… See More>anonymous

All goes downhill!
I have been living here for three years and I just have to get out of this apartment. You have to remind maintenance that they were supposed to fix something in your apartment. There are new people working in the office everytime you go in there. They have "lost" my rent checks. The free rent guarantee until a problem is fixed is a joke. The rent goes up every year even though things get worse.

I'm happy
I moved in to Windmont summer of 2004, and I'm planning to renew my lease with them this summer. I found the staff to be very courteous and helpful and they do try to respond to issues in a timely manner. I have the 2-bedroom 2 bathroom apartment with washer and dryer. Compared to other places, you really can't find a better deal that encompasses location, staff, and quality of service. My only complaint would be that if you end up with excessively noisy neighbors you will hear them, but that goes for most apartment residences I think. For people who dont want to live too close to downtown Atlanta, but still want to be inside the perimeter with close access to 85 and 285, Windmont Apartments is a good choice.

Looked at Apartment
The apartments nice and the staff pleasant -- but ONLY on first glance. As it turns out, they are incredibly difficult to deal with and do not return calls. When I stopped by, I had to wait an extra hour AFTER opening hours for them to open. On top of that wait, they were rude to me. The staff also lied about apartments being empty and tried to rent me an apartment that was full -- and the resident was NOT moving out! If you actually want an easy move, do NOT waste your time here!

Tried to move in, but gave up
I looked at moving into Windmont in March 2002 but gave up due to the extreme irresponsibility of the office staff. Consider yourself lucky if they contact you back. Dealing with these people is a complete nightmare.
