My review of Windmont, not too good.

I had high hopes about this apartment complex, I saw the ad on equityapartments.com so I read about the place and thought it would be nice to check it out. All I have to say is dont sign anything and dont put down a deposit on any apartment until you've seen the actual apartment. I paid the 50 dollar application fee and put 91 dollars on an apartment for them to hold the apartment. My move in date was suppost to be today, but I went to go see the actual apartment Thursday and I was very up set with what was waiting for me. The place didnt have a light in the bed room or the living room, the agent told me that I should get lamp, I was like wtf, then the the kitchen, was horrible, the garbage disposal was torn out and water ras runing under the cabinet, the top cabinets had been re-done, but the bottom cabinets were old and beat up and I asked her why they didnt re-do these aswell, she said I dont know, but its good that they re-did the top ones cause those are the ones you can see, I was like are you serious, then my counter had scratches all over it, (like somebody had been cutting it with a knife), the for was the same, the appliances were very old and the vent over the stove was torn out. I was really sad, cause I did like the neighborhood and I like where the Apt was at, but this was just too much, and the agent knew that so she was trying her best to get me to sign the lease early, I was like no, so the next day I call the property manager and told here how displeased I was with the apartment, and she was like what do you expect they are 20 years old, what do I expect when I pay my hard earned money to stay somewhere? I expect the apartment to have lights in the damn place not only the bathroom and the kitchen( she told me we old promise that you will have one light and a ceiling fan, what is that?), I would like the counter and the cabinet to look fairly new, I shouldnt have to pay for what the former tenants did, thats why you pay a security deposit, I guess they just kept the money, I want the floors and the apartment in general to look presentable, I didnt get any help from the property manager Ann Marie, she kept making promises but she had to check before she could do it, basically she was saying sign the lease then we will see what we can do. Dont get me wrong this was a nice place but if anybody does read this, make sure you actually get to see your place before you do the application and put down the deposit( oh and the deposit is non refundable after 24 hours, and trust me they wont tell you that, well atleast Simone didnt tell me, the Staff was cool though, but they arent really looking out for you so just keep that in mind
