Resident 2012 - 2013

1/17/2013

Overall, I am quite happy here. I moved in January 1, 2012, and I just renewed my lease for another year last December. I was on my way to check out the apartment complex next to it and saw Windmont on the way. This place had better looking apartments at cheaper price, and Sara, the leasing consultant at the time, was really nice. So, my toddler and I began to live here a few days later, and I am glad that I found this apartment. Maintenance: Jose, the maintenance guru, is really friendly and is on top of things. He comes within 48 hours - sometimes even within a few hours - of putting in a work order. Office: Pegasus Residential took over the property in the fall(?) of last year. Unfortunately, Sara is no longer working at Legacy Century Center. Fortunately, I found the new leasing consultant, Della, and manager, Brenda, to be just as friendly and competent as Sara. They know me by my name and greet me with a smile every time I walk into the office. Safety: Since I am a single mom with a young kid, it was my main concern when I was searching for an apartment. No problems so far. I feel very safe here. It's not a gated community, so I get occasional solicitors - especially from churches. They don't come often, though, - maybe once a month - and not really persistent. I'm okay with that. Neighbors: The noise level depends on what kind of neighbors one has, so it would be better to talk about my neighbors. I don't know any of them personally, but I like the ones I met. They are courteous and friendly. My upstairs neighbor was a little loud when he first moved in. I guess he realized that one day. He knocked on my door to ask me if he was loud. When I told him yes, he apologized and kept the noise under control ever since that. My neighbors and I exchange hellos when we meet at the parking lot. Pest: I started seeing ants this winter when the weather started to get cold. I guess my unit was attractive to them because I keep my place warm. The office had a pest control come spray my unit. I placed Terro and sealed the cracks where I saw the ants coming in and out. I haven't seen any since that. I am okay as long as I'm not seeing roaches. I haven't seen any roaches or centipedes, so no complaints. Price: I think it's reasonable. It was cheaper than neighboring apartment properties. Of course, I wish it was cheaper. But around this area near Buckhead, Perimeter, and Downtown, any decent one-bed is going to go over $700. Being only electric was a big plus for me. I have to pay for only one base fee instead of two for gas and electric. I cook everyday, bake often, and keep my place warm. My electric bill last month was around $85. Not bad. Cons: I wish they keep the pool cleaner during the summer. The walls are kinda thin, so I can hear my neighbors turning on the shower. Not to the point where I can hear their conversations, though. Hmm... I think I've been thorough enough :-) So, yeah. I would recommend this place.
