Moving b/c of management and safety

Come July I will have lived here for a year. I didn't know the area well when I first moved in. Clairmont Rd seems alright, but then you keep going down and it gets ------. The first week I was living at Windmont, the guy below me got broken into. There have been numerous incidents since then. There are always people wandering around in the parking lot and the Rd at all hours. Not a fan of management either. The day of my move in, there was not a washer and dryer in the unit even though there was supposed to be. Water from the water heater had leaked all over the carpet. Fortunately they got it fixed that day. Huge hassel to have a repair guy when you are trying to move in though. No idea why they didn't have it fixed beforehand. They never tell you when you have a package in the office, nor is there a notice in your box. One time when I went to pick something up, the new girl said she didn't know who I was and felt like she shouldn't give it to me. Hello? You're new...if it's really that much of an issue find my lease and ask for an ID...which she didn't do. I wrote and complained to management, never received a response. Water is an issue as well. They take readings for the whole building and then divide it out evenly. You also have to drop off a check, can't pay online. It's been in the works to pay online for a year now...so guess that's never going to happen. When you fill out a maintenance request, there's an area for you to specify if you'd like for them to come in at a certain time. I left a 5 hour time frame, but they ignored it and came whenever they felt like it. They do get things done in a timely manner though. Another annoying thing, is the switch to your overhead light in the bedroom actually goes to a circuit. So you have to use the pull down switch on your fan. Just seems silly to me. The apartment itself is nice. My unit is 650 sqft, currently paying $650. If I were to renew, they were going to bump it $688, which seemed a lot. If I wanted to do month to month: $800 per month, which is silly. Not a lot of noise, very rarely do I hear my neighbors. Plenty of parking. Besides feeling unsafe, the location is good b/c it is convenient to get anywhere in Atlanta. Still have a little while before I move out. If the move out process is ridiculous, will update.
