The Good, The Bad and the Ugly

The Good: Lived in building 5 for 5 months now. My neighbors are quiet and keep to themselves. I've had nothing but professional service from Larry S., the assistant manager. My apartment is a nice size for 1 person (740 sq. ft), I have a ceiling fan in both the bedroom and living room and I have a washer/dryer in my unit. I've never experienced a robbery, even though this is a heavily populated area. In addition, parking is generally great and I'm able to park in the same space daily. The few maintenence requests I've had have been fixed immediately. <br><br>The Bad: The ant problem is pretty bad here, but I was told that before I signed the lease. It's more to do with being in GA, which just had a bad insect problem. However, they've only appeared during the last 3 months and they are small ants, so I just use Raid to keep them at bay. I've lived in other apartments in Atlanta, and I'd rather deal with this then the ninja cockroaches that are ever present in GA (I've yet to see one in my apartment here though). <br><br>The Ugly: Living directly off Buford Highway means you will constantly hear the traffic and the music from the nearby restaurants. Occassionally, the restaurants decide to use their loudspeakers to broadcast sports until 1 AM, so you'll have a few sleepless nights. Not to mention you are only about a mile from Peachtree-Dekalb airport, so you WILL hear every single plane as they land at all hours of the night. In addition, one of my neighbors has a very annoying car alarm that goes off every day and night when a plane flies overheard or if a car drives too close to it. Management is aware of the issue, but I'm not sure what's being done about it as it's still a problem. Lastly, since November 2006, you now have to hand-deliver all rent payments to a live staff-person. No more drop boxes and no real explanation as to why. Extremely inconvenient for those of us that work a 9-5.<br>
