Resident 2015

4/22/2015

I have been a resident of Greystone Summit since November 2014 after a horrible experience at my last community and I'll be honest my expectations were really high. I'll break down the pros and cons. In my opinion the pros outweigh the cons. Good: 1) Greystone is the cheapest per square foot in its price range and it is impossible to find a better deal with the same quality and amenities. 2) The staff in the front office does a good job with responding to service requests and resident complaints. Everyone in the office focuses on the small details that are important to people who expect a lot from a luxury community. Plus, Sam is very good at fixing requests in a timely manner and he does it right the first time. 3) Most of the decor and appliances in the apartments are good quality except for the cabinets (I'll address it later). The granite in particular is very good quality and I really like the color arrangements throughout the apartment. You will not find interior amenities as nice as Greystone in this price range. 4) The resident amenities are really nice particularly the pool area. I love the stone patio and pool area. Plus the clubhouse is to die for design-wise. 5) The parking lot is very well lit and I feel safe coming in at night since I work late. 6) A previous resident addressed the garbage. For the most part, garbage was not an issue here. I have seen dumpsters at other complexes that are appalling however I did notice the trash dumpster overflowed a few times. 7) The exterior construction and landscaping is top notch for the price range Greystone sits in. I toured most complexes in Alpharetta, Johns Creek, and Cumming and I will admit Greystone has the best quality despite my issue with the cabinets. 8) Nice people and nice neighbors. No scrubby people here. Cons: 1) Some of the paintwork and trim in my apartment appears as though it was slightly rushed however most of the work was very well done. I recognize this is a new construction however I am surprised some of the areas made it past final inspection considering the attention to detail Greystone demonstrates. 2) The cabinets are an issue for me. I feel the cabinets and hinges aren't very well made and considering I use them daily I have already noticed issues with the quality. 3) I was a little bit disappointed when I noticed the grill wasn't setup last I checked. Granted the weather hasn't been awesome but I did try to go use it on a nice day. 4) I would like to see more amenities and things to do added. Maybe a walking trail or something. Overall, I do feel the pros outweigh the cons and Greystone is worth the investment if you are looking for a true luxury apartment community. Most apartments in North Atlanta by definition are a complex. You get a decent to nice clubhouse with gorgeous grounds but the apartments are usually mediocre. However, Greystone did a good job with focusing on all of the details to ensure they have happy long term residents.
