My husband and I are renewing our lease for the third year. We have lived in rental houses and apartments before Houston Lake and none compare to it. The price is average and comparable to any apartments in the area. We have never had a problem that maintenance or the office staff didn't address quickly. Maintenance has always showed up within 24 hours. When our air went out in the middle of July on the weekend, they arrived within 30 minutes and fixed it. Otis fixed a problem we had with our flooring and works with us on many levels. We feel very safe here and even feel safe walking our dogs late at night. The courtesy officer, Ron, is fantastic! He will come ASAP for any call. He will address noisy neighbors or people who speed. There are many kids that run and play around here and they can be noisy but it doesn't interfere with our lives. The kids are always inside at a decent hour as well...they're kids, they are playing & having fun! The pool and grills are nice and have been replaced/repaired this past summer. We have not found any other apts that allow our 2 full grown labs at all, even with a deposit. We love everyone in our building and know them all by name. My parents visit and are amazed at how quiet and calm it is for an apartment community. I read many complaints about the staff here and in all honesty I believe if you pay your rent on time (or at all) and are respectful, they'll help you in any way. You receive what you give.
