I turned in our 60 day notice the girl I turned it in to took the paper and I asked for a copy. Thank god I did because I get a call late January saying they didn't get my notice and wanted to know if we would be moving out next month. I told the girl that I already turned in my notice and she told me that the girl no longer works there that I turned it in to. I told her I have a copy of it and I'd be happy to bring them a copy and she all of the sudden found the notice while I was on the phone! She said I wouldn't have to worry about the pre inspection since the previous girl never mentioned or set it up. We moved out and had the carpets cleaned and it was time for the final wall through. They tell us they have a urine detector stick that they use to see if any urine is in the carpet... it really was just a moisture meters and EVERY place the guy put it the meter went off. I myself find it impossible to have pee every area of your carpet especially when we take our dog out to use the potty and when we aren't home he's in his kennel not to mention the dog is not allowed in our rooms and somehow there was "urine" in the bedrooms and closets! So really their "urine meter" was detecting we had the carpets cleaned??? We paid a 500.00 pet deposit and 250.00 regular deposit now they say we have to pay 800.00 to replace the carpets and the 500.00 pet dep is only to cover a few spots! These people are ridiculous!! The other thing that happened was when we were moving our daughters dresser there was a stain under it where the side of the dresser sits as well as all along the base boards. It was from them having the apartments patio pressure washed above ours and it seeped into our apartment damaging the carpet and my dresser! I told the manager and she was completely rude about it and told me I needed to file it through my renters insurance and that it's just like if the apartment above me flooded and messed up my stuff I would file it through my insurance. I then let her know I work for an insurance company and know how things work I told her that I would file it through my insurance if it was because of my negligence or someone else who did not have insurance or enough coverage to cover my damages but I know very good and well that they have insurance and I'm not going to pay my deductible for their negligence and crappy building! She told me to check with my insurance and let her know what they say so I did just to tickle her fancy and they said I would file it through the HLAC's insurance. So when we told them this they said they would have to "look into it". Our bedroom window has also been leaking the whole time and had mold all around the window sill which explains why I was sick every month we lived there. They also have cheap shower walls put up that holds moisture behind them and has mold all around the bottom and under it! Maybe they should use their fancy moisture stick on that!! People please do not live here they are scam artist and yes the staff (except the manager) is friendly until you're moving out and you're no longer their customer!! They are going to try to nickel and dime you for everything so they still make money off of you after you've left!! Also Parking sucks there's not enough for as many people in the buildings. I work and go to school full time so I would not get home until aft 10:00 pm and I couldn't even park at my building and had to walk in the dark bc they have poor lighting. The whole time I lived there we never had a light in the stairwell.
