Horrible Experience

First off, when me and my fiance rented our apartment, we came in and the staff was extremely friendly. That changed soon after we signed our paperwork. First off, the way it was explained when we signed our lease was that Charter was offered as an optional conveniance to be packaged with our rent. When I found out how much cheaper it could be for another cable company, I tried to switch. At THAT point the leasing office told me yeah we could get cable somewhere else, but we still had to pay charter $40 a month whether we had there cable or not. There has been mailbox vandalism, cars broken into and stolen, and the gate is always broken. Even though they advertise a safe gated community with cameras, they only have one camera and its watching only the gate, which is broken anyway. They even sent out a newsletter saying that residents should not look at the gate as a sense of security and they want residents to respect that safety is our responsibility. There are always people leaving trash outside of there apartments for days or even weeks at a time. The one time I left a few bags outside my door for less than an hour to take them off all at once I got a phone call saying to remove them or they would charge $25 a bag and do it themselves. Oh and when I went to pay rent one day, during office hours, nobody would answer the door so I left a letter saying I tried to pay rent but nobody was there. Came back the next day and had to pay a $100 late fee even though I was there to pay rent on time just because they weren't in the office. They gave me a letter saying I had to pay the rent and late fee at once. On the letter dated for that day it said I could pay with a card, but the leasing manager said "oh we don't allow that anymore we need to change it". I had to spend more money to get a money order to pay rent though the letter said cash, check, money order, or credit card. I have only outlined a few things of the many annoyances of this "luxary" apartment complex. It seems like they only care getting rent and nothing about helping the residents out themselves. My advice-stay away from these overpriced apartments.
