My Husband and I visited the Villas at Newnan Crossing. The apartments and the area are beautiful. The leasing agent who helped us was nice also. While we waited on her to assist us, my Husband asked her if he should fill out one of the guest cards on the table. She said she would fill that out for us. She came to the table with us and filled it out. I saw her write "BLK" on one of the lines and quickly cover it with her hand so we wouldn't notice....but we did. (My Husband and I didn't mention it to each other until we left).I definitely don't believe the "BLK" comment was for demographics, because we weren't asked any of the other demographic questions that would typically go along with it. Before taking us on the tour, the leasing agent assisted a current tenant with a package he received. While we waited, another leasing agent walked right past us without saying a word. It was so close that I had to take a few steps to the side so she wouldn't run into me. My Husband and I looked at each other. I know he wanted to say something to her, but we let it go. Out of all the people we saw while we were there, none of them were people of color. I brushed it off, because it was the middle of the day on Friday and I assumed a lot of people were at work. I thought it was ironic that they have a nice plaque hanging for everyone to see of their "no discrimination policy", but I felt it was all for show.
Again, the apartment complex itself is beautiful and the leasing agent was very nice and helpful, but I cannot recommend a place that I feel I would not genuinely be welcomed in.
