Okay, but not great.
I really liked the apartment I lived in for a year, and enjoyed the location within the city. I had some really nice neighbors that lived upstairs that I was friendly with for awhile before they moved out. The community at large is pretty nice, too. The maintenance men were also very nice and usually pretty prompt. My main argument with this property would be the management team in the office. They're very nice and generally pleasant to work with, but not very helpful at all. I had a similar problem to one of the other reviewers when I moved in--no hot water. It turned out to be a switched pipe; for some reason it gave you cold water on hot and vice versa. I had that for a week. Then, my car was broken into. I was really disappointed about that because I thought it was a pretty nice community that was very safe. The washer and dryer were convenient, but very poor quality. They destroyed half my clothes within a few months of even very careful and conservative use. I ended up just soaking a lot of my clothes without actually running the agitator much. Finally, I had a major water leak whenever I ran my shower for about two months. I measured the amount of water lost running the shower, and it was close to fifteen gallons for a ten minute shower. My water bills were higher and despite constant phone calls and maintenance requests, somehow this fell through the cracks and it took me writing up a long letter to get anyone's attention in the office. I should have gotten about a month of free rent per their maintenance pledge, but the property manager only gave me half. Still, I was glad to get that. Sometimes, also, maintenance requests were responded to quickly but sort of half assed. The deal with the shower took weeks to resolve because the plumbing was discontinued and they had to special order pieces to convert it. Also, I had some dead bushes by my door that were dead when I moved in. When I requested them removed, they just hacked the tops off and left ugly stumps in the ground. Towards the end of my stay, my boyfriend moved in with me. I had about a month left of lease but the management team pressured me pretty heavily and were pretty rude about getting him to fill out a $100 application fee to live in the community. They finally gave me a notice they were raising my rent $100 so we moved somewhere else. I would say that this community is pretty good as long as you don't have any problems, but I get the impression that the property was built sort of cheaply and needs upgrades AMLI doesn't want to deal with. The team in the office is pleasant enough most of the time, but it's hard to get help.Share This Review
