I would rather leave in a box.

First, there are so many things; I don't know where to start. The kitchen--- really?? Painted counter tops, a disgusting stove and fridge that you feel disgusted having your food be around. The dishwasher that can't clean a glass even if you just drank water out of it. So many layers of cheap linoleum it's like walking on a spring board. The connected laundry area that spits lint and dust into the kitchen The washer and dryer that don t clean your cloths; just damages them. The leaking water heater that is fine , even though mold is growing around it. The water-based heating system that doesn't work, so you have to use the wall installed electric heater by the door; that way your gas and electric bills are high. There is wind chill factor in the unit; drafts everywhere. The swamp in the back of the complex they do nothing about, so it smells like death and the bugs are the size of birds---you better be in before night fall, in the summer. One garbage area for the entire place! Don't even think of dumping your garbage on the weekend! You will need a shoe-horn and gas mask to get in the area. Unless you live in the front of the complex (the area the future residents see) you are forgotten; somehow, you have become the lower class people of Amli. The last two months of your lease, you will receive no rent bill. They tell you what you owe, written in pencil by the account manager. I paid that amount and wouldn't you know it, I received a $150.00 fee for being late. Why? Because I paid the wrong amount. How? Because a correction was made on Amil s copy but never changed on mine copy. The management; can you say sixth grade education?? The pool and fitness area? Unless you want chlorine burns or whatever is growing in or on the area, don t bother! You can use the 1970 fitness equipment, but it has sweat and filth on it. And chances are a you will have a creeper watching you, as it is in front of a plate glass window outside of the visitor parking lot. I work in construction management and have seen housing project communities that looked like they were better run. As far as your refundable deposit goes, don't even think about getting it back. In fact, expect an additional bill when you move out for whatever they feel like replacing in your unit. (apparently it s your job to get the apartment move-in ready for the next tenant!) You will put down a security deposit but I don t know what that is for, as I received none of it back and then received a bill for new carpet, new paint, new paint on the counters and another layer of linoleum. Did I mention that our stay was only 7 months and it was just my wife and I??? I called Amli to question this bill and was told it is what it is but you never offered me a walk through or showed me all of this damage, I said. Sorry was the reply. The next day an Amli lawyer called me. I would rather wake up with my face sewn to the carpet than deal with these people again. If we had know what we know now, we would have spent 7 months at the Motel 8! P.S. I could go on but I want people to read this!!
