Pros:
- Nice layout (for the most part). I like the very open layout and the private entry. I also have a unit with the master upstairs and the other bedroom on the lower level - works out nicely for my family.
- Full size washer and dryer in unit.
- Parking is plentiful.
- Office staff - very courteous and pleasant.
- Nice amenities (indoor and outdoor pool & nice business center).
- Reasonably priced.
Cons:
- Trash situation - there is ONE garbage compactor area for the ENTIRE complex. Eveyone drives their garbage to that location...you're screwed if you live across the complex. I have a toddler so this poses a HUGE inconvenience for me.
- Hot water situation - the hot water tanks must be tiny. I have a nice sized bathtub, but can't fill it up because the hot water runs out halfway through.
- Maintenance issues - I haven't even lived here one year and I've had to file more maintenance requests than I did at my previous apt which I lived at for 4 years. The maintenance issues have varied: dryer didn't work (took about 4 times and some escalation before they finally just gave me a new dryer), ceiling leaking after all of the snow that we had, fan in bathroom went out, smoke detector / carbon monoxide batteries constantly need replacing, had ants in my kitchen when first moved in etc
- No dining area - this is my only gripe about the layout. There is no dining area...just the living room and the kitchen. I had to get rid of my kitchen table and there really isn't anywhere for my family to eat. We try to eat at the breakfast bar but it's small.
- Utility bills (water, sewer, and trash that you pay on top of your base rent) are variable and tend to get high and I can't figure out exactly why.
- No clubhouse for residents to rent. Online it APPEARS you can rent it...and they definitely have a clubhouse - but I've called twice and been informed it's not available to rent for the tenants (have to use the outside area in the summer).
I do think this place is a good bargain for the price...but the cons are starting to outweigh the pros for me and I doubt I will resign for another year.
