Please be aware (long but the truth)

I'm not one to complain on any level as far as apartments and I have lived in several around the Naperville, Lisle and Aurora area. However, I did not have a good experience here. I was treated nicely the first day I went into Amli to see if I could rent an apartment, however, from the day I moved in I had problems. <br>I notified Amli immediately when I opened up the door to my two bedroom two bath apartment and it smelled so horrible of cat urine. I have owned cats in the past as do many of my friends and never ever has any one of them made the house smell that horrible. Upon reaching someone in the office I was told that maintenance would have to come inspect the problem before anything was taken care of. I asked if the carpet could please be replaced as the smell when it gets hot would just be worse. I also politely asked if the carpets were shampooed I was told yes and a pet gaurd was done on it. <br>It took Amli a week to get anything taken care of, but yes they did replace the carpet, but me and my boyfriend had to move my furniture out of the first floor one day and off the second the next, which was a pain because I paid professional movers to move me originally because I didn't want to do the heavy labor part. I wasn't even offered a compensation on my expensive rent for the hassel. <br>From day one to just before the carpet was installed 1 week later, I got ants in my apartment on the second floor. Amli did nothing for it and I had to spray my own ant killer versus having an exterminator come in to take care of the problem, which was only temporary. <br>Finally once the carpet was in, the carpet installers didn't even make the carpet meet the walls so I had gaps between the walls and the carpet to where you could see the concrete underneath and you could still smell the cat urine. Nice I thought to myself, but at least now my furniture could be put back in place versus squished in the kitchen and bathroom areas. <br>The other problem I had on move in day--Amli never cleaned my apartment as far as having a cleaning service come in and clean the counters in kitchen, refridgerator, bathrooms, etc. I personally had to clean all this myself, as the previous owners kitchen items were still in the drawers and cabinents. Isn't it a law that landlords must clean and re-paint all apartments after one has moved out?<br>Next, I encountered wasp's nests everywhere on my balcony. I asked Amli to take care of the problem. I was told they sprayed the gutters and my deck for them. However, I came to find out nothing was done because there were 10 nests underneath the railing of the balcony. So my boyfriend had to take care of spraying them and knocking them down himself. Not a fun task.<br>And I do agree with a few of the other renters on parking, there is limited parking, wish there were more spaces; the trash compactor situation--need more trash areas; and overall office staff--some of them should get an attitude check.<br>So these are a few of the problems I ran into while renting at Amli at Oakhurst North. You wouldn't think for the amount of rent you pay that one would not have to deal with some of these issue.<br><br>
