Resident 2014 - 2015

2/13/2015

Run away quickly. The staff is completely unorganized and the follow through with any task is obsolete. Our window looks out to a building so we have next to no light that comes into our living room. The only natural light we have is from the sliding door in our bedroom that looks right out to everyone who walks by. The trash is moved every single day (holidays included) so we are woken up that that every morning. We were told that it was only Tuesday and Thursday but people move the large metal trash cans every single day. The process for maintenance at this complex is to notify the staff who then submits a ticket. Then, after the ticket is issued they have 48 hours to repair. In our experience, it has taken much longer to get any minor job done. This apartment complex should be ashamed to charge residents the amount of money that they do. For 1 br 1 bath we pay $1900 rent and they charge you $75 for a second car to park in the garage. Most people do not want to pay the $75 so they park lining down the street so you cannot see anything pulling out into the road. Its evident that this building was built cheaply and quickly. When we moved in we were only the second residents in a newly refurbished apartment and many drawers do not close correctly, outlets are cheap, the finish on our cabinets is not complete nor was the paint on the bathroom door frames. Admittedly the amenities are very nice but they are not worth the premium price tag. Hardly anyone takes full advantage of the amenities and though we thought that we would, we usually just stay in our apartment like everyone else. We transferred apartments and were assured that the paperwork would be correctly filed. Two months after we had been living in the new apartment we received a bill that held an outstanding amount due for the old apartment (which had been paid) and we went to the office and were assured it was corrected, but two weeks after that we were summoned to court for due rent for the old apartment. Since the pricing for the community is high, we assumed that it would draw a good crowd of respectful and quiet people and families. Residents litter constantly both in the garage and in the main areas of the building. The trash room was so misused that the management had to post a formal letter stating that people were to face eviction if trash was left in the room instead of putting it down the shoot. This place is a joke and I am embarrassed to say that I was fooled into paying the outrageous price to live here. As soon as my lease is out, I am running as far as I can from Harmony Place Apartments and the Buzzuto communities. If there is anything I can do to help anyone who reads this review, please know that this community is NOT luxury and the pricing is outrageous in comparison to other communities in the area. There is absolutely no reason to pay anywhere form $1800 to over $2000 for 1br 1 ba in the Bowie area. Do not be wooed by the show apartment; they are beautiful from the first look but no where near priced correctly.
