My husband and I recently moved to The Bowen from out of state. We visited the property months before we moved to MD and loved it. The model apt is lovely and the amenities are endless. The location is perfect as well. So it was no question we would make this our home. Unfortunately, it has been all but pleasant since we've moved in. I will try not to make this review long and drawn out.
We have been dealing with extremely noisy upstairs neighbors AND roaches since we've moved into our apt. We should have known something was wrong when we noticed dead roaches during our move-in inspection. Although skeptical we were assured that there was no infestation and that the dead roaches was the continued remedy of a previous issue but it was handled. Being optimistic, we continued with our move in and cleaned the apt to get ready for the movers. A few days after moving in, we noticed live roaches and immediately reported it to the staff. The contracted exterminator sprayed but that had no effect on them. It seemed to get worst! At that point we knew it was an infestation and was horrified. Since that time, a noticed went out to a certain range of apts (including ours) for pest control. We had already started our own pest control regiment purchasing items off Amazon and declined their pest control the 2nd time around. It seemed to be working but weeks later, more would pop up therefore we knew it is coming from a neighbor.
Our upstairs neighbors are extremely noisy. We're not talking about heavy walking and cabinet slamming (which we would welcome at this point), their child(ren) are constantly playing ball (yes we hear the ball bouncing) and horseplay. The horseplay is so loud, I fear one day somebody is going to come through our ceiling. We have complained on numerous occasions and the staff have been polite, apologized and assured they will speak with them BUT nothing has changed. We are still waiting on a remedy for that issue. It's rude and annoying to have to hit the ceiling with a broom to get them to quiet down.
On a brighter note, the maintenance team is wonderful. A great group of guys. The Concierge is wonderful as well.
At this point we are not happy living here and we would NOT recommend moving here, it is not worth the money we are paying. If it doesn't get better, we will have no choice but to look elsewhere. Very disappointed!
