Everyone I have meet are speak too when I see them is very nice and friendly, the outside of our apartments are always clean I never had a problem with no one. The community is very nice and quiet and clean I never seen are heard any noise that&rsquo;s not respectable. I would definitely refer a friend, family or coworker.

The staff are very nice and professional the apt is clean and spacious the neighborhood is quiet and comfortable the bus is right outside the apt and and there is different stores across the street somewhere you can definitely call home.

I have lived at Oak Mill for the past two years and each member of the staff at Oak Mill (Alex&#44; Liana&#44; Crystal&#44; Charles and all service team and Nishea) have all been extremely helpful throughout my time at the community. I take pride in my home and the staff at Oak Mil have always been very respectful to me and any requests that I have had regarding repairs to my apartment. It is not easy to please everyone but the Oak Mill team are soo nice that I cannot imagine how others could have negative things to say about them. Give them an opportunity to impress you because they gave me a chance and definitely delivered.

This is the worst place I ever rented from&#44; don&#39;t believe me call my bluff I guarantee you will be quoting my review. 

I may only be a young teenager as I&#39;m writing this review however I have lived in these apartments from entire life. I have lived in every single different door and seen every type of apartment. I use to live in Oak Mill 1 but now in Oak Mill 2 over in Brandermill. (I currently reside in Oak Mill 2 and I havent been to Oak Mill 1 in a while so I would have no idea if things in that area are different from what Im experiencing over here)

-Some issues that I&#39;ve experienced is for one the parking. My friends were sleeping over and their car got towed. Oak Mill does not clearly label which spots are residents or which spots are visitors guests. In another review I read that you have to park outside the complex if your a visitor only to get towed by someone else. Which is to say at least a 150$ fine. Parking a car late at night is also rather hard&#44; you might wound up parking far away from your building and have to walk over to reach your complex.
-I havent met with the staff since I don&#39;t handle that sort of thing as a student so I can&#39;t make any comments regarding such.
-We recently got our kitchen and bathroom remodeled which I thought was a nice touch. It is much better than what it use to be. However the new fridge is rather noisy when it starts up. In the bathroom when the lights turn on they are dark&#44; but then slowly get brighter and brighter. Sometimes this can be a good thing. In the middle of the night I go to use the bathroom and lights would turn on blindingly bright. It varies your results. The shower they added a new nozzle that sprays three different ways.
-Neighbors are quite loud for me (It actually varies on what type you have&#44; my friend who lives over in another building says it extremely quiet for him). You can hear people simply walking&#44; just walking&#44; from room to room&#44; the floor creaks from upstairs and I hear it all the time. You can hear people take showers and use the toilet (you would actually hear that in any apartment but its extremely loud in this case)
-The lighting outside the apartments is bleak&#44; it is pitch black. You can&#39;t see a thing. Sometimes the lampposts are on but rarely lit on. 
-Responses to fix appliances or plumbing or anything within that is rather slow. They are almost always late for whenever they say they will fix your problems. Outside apartments&#44; theirs not much too look at. 
-The architecture of the buildings from the outside is rather dull and depressing. There is no life to the apartments exterior appearance. This may be one of the things I hate most. If you look at other apartment complex&#39;s like the Elms for example&#44; they&#39;re exterior is beautiful. They have beautiful archways and columns&#44; its just amazing. The outside exterior of oak mill is gray and brown panelling from top to bottom. As for greenery&#44; its rather dull as well. They did plant a few new bushes and such&#44; but no flowers&#44; just bushes&#44; going back to the Elms they have plenty of flowers. In fact&#44; the main office of Oak Mill has flowers yet the rest of the apartment complex does not. There is a park&#44; but its rather dull. They&#39;re are no sidewalks heading to the park in Oak Mill 2 (there is in Oak Mill 1).
-Interior of the apartments are actually decent. I mean whats to look at? White walls tanningwhitebrown looking sort of carpet. The kitchen the new counters they installed are decent. The floor however is like a wallpaper made to look like floor tiles. Same with wooding. The wallpaper by the front door is made to look like wallpaper.
-The dumpsters are rather filthy&#44; they do have recycling units at the dumpers however people do not put their trash inside the dumpster. One time I had to climb over other trash to put my trash in the unit which was already full. Every now and then you see furniture just sitting outside the dumpster unit. 
-Also&#44; you do have to pay if you have pets&#44; which is dumb I mean&#44; like really? It&#39;s a pet&#44; calm down.

If your looking at the apartments you already know this is not gonna be some luxury apartment&#44; but for an apartment complex of its league&#44; it is below average. In my honest opinion. I am neither satisfied or unsatisfied with the apartments overall performance. Sure they have they&#39;re downs but its nothing that I would just get up and move out of. I mean yes&#44; I know of other apartments around the area that are far more adequate than Oak Mill&#44; and truthfully I wouldn&#39;t recommend it either&#44; if my family were financially able to&#44; we would have upped and gone already. Final statements&#44; does not recommend unless you are patient and ignore all of that up there This review may be biased. Maybe its because I lived here so long that I&#39;ve grown use to the apartments downfalls. Thats probably it. 

Young students point of view

Hello. I have lived in Oak Mill since 2007 and never had a problem with anybody or anything. It seems to be that people only come to this website when something bad happens to let others know&#44; but if nothing bad ever happens in your apartments then you never write a review and that is wrong. I don&#39;t have anything good or bad to say about this apartments&#44; I live on the 4th floor so I don&#39;t hear my neighbors&#44; maybe they party every night and im all lonely and quite up there. All the times something broke (garbage disposal and washing machine) I got it fixed right away. I give them permission to go into my apartment and do what they have to do and when I get home I have a sheet explaining everything they did on my apartment so ta-da! Its done. A lot of people don&#39;t like people in their apartment when they are not home and usually when they get back from work maintanence personnel are off work too so don&#39;t expect to get it fixed if they are closed! Don&#39;t schedule maintance for the weekends neither since we all know weekends are the busiest days for whatever you want to do. Be smart. All this people here talk about others but what about themselves? are they good neighbors? Maybe not. Then&#44; DO NOT expect top priority service in low priced apartments. There is a reason why these are LOW PRICE and people with less income live here&#44; which makes it a low-income-family complex and you will receive low-income-family service. Want to get top of the hill service? Then move to one of those tall and nice buildings in Bethesda or Potomac&#44; im sure they will treat you differently. 

Never had a problem here

I have lived in Oak Mill Apartments since May 2014 and here are the issues my roommate and I have had since moving in:

1. Bed bug found in the first week of living there. Orkin man wrote a note stating: bed bug, sad face. no other explanation until we went down to further investigate
2. After having several large storms in a row, water was gushing through the window, After the maintenance request was submitted, it took 4 weeks for maintenance to address.
3. Very easy to hear neighbors in next door apartments
4. The unit underneath of us had been complaining of issues with the floors and always hearing creaking noises. Managements response was to put nails into our floor instead of actually fixing the floor. They also never put our carpet back correctly after tearing it up.
5. The final straw were cockroaches. We are both very clean people and returned home to a kitchen full or cockroaches after we both spent a weekend away. When we went to tell management, one staff laughed and said that that sucks. Their response was to have us live in the unit while they continued to spray weekly until they were gone. Completely unacceptable to expect someone to live in those conditions, and then suggested that we brought the roaches into our apartment.

BH Management bought it from Bainbridge management one year ago, now is worst, mice infected complex, overnight overflow of trash dumpster, main source of the Mice !!!! In the weekend after 5:00 pm Friday all over to Monday early morning easy to find over 300 pounds of trash on the floor.

Mice!! Mice and more Mice!! That&apos;s what you get if you choose to live in this Avana Oakmill apartments. I trapped more than 50 mice in my apartment, when you call the leasing office to complaint about it they just send someone for pets company to place traps all over!! But the mice are always inside the apartment.
