I moved in 9 months ago. Within the first month, my 100% indoor cat got fleas. About a month after that, the bed bugs started biting. I have contacted the complex several times about this issue, but they continue to close my requests without contacting me, or attempting to resolve the issue.

I&#39;ve lived here a year and a half and the rent is okay for it&#39;s location. To be cheaper you&#39;d have to move to Pontiac or out in the stix somewhere. 

Maintenance is okay. They have a 24 hour line that always picks up so that&#39;s good&#44; but I&#39;ve had to call about having no hot water SIX different times! They kept saying it was fixed and then it&#39;d be okay for a few days but then it would go out again! Last time they said it was some &#34;malfunctioning motherboard&#34; (water heaters have motherboards now?) and that it would take a week to order a new one! WTF? That seems to have fixed it for now but it should have been fixed six phone calls ago! However&#44; in building 6 the main sewer pipe leaks (only occasionally&#44; so I figure it&#39;s when people take showers and do dishes at the same time or something) But the basement smells like human waste and you have to hold your breath when you do laundry. The floor is stained brown from the left over poop. 

There is a family of rats living under the door to my building&#44; but that&#39;s partly the fault of the idiots that live in this complex. There are plenty of dumpsters all over the place but when one gets full or if just one side gets full&#44; rather than get their dainty little hands dirty by touching the dumpster lid on the other side or walking to the next one&#44; they set their trash ON THE GROUND!! Eat up rats! Oh&#44; and speaking of trash&#44; you can expect to see homeless people picking through the dumpsters Monday morning and a guy with a truck collecting other peoples broken furniture. 

Have a nice car? Well you definitely don&#39;t want to move here then! I have to drive over like 8 different speed bumps twice every day! They are all over this complex! Some are ridiculously HUGE and others don&#39;t even deserve to be called speed bumps! But they&#39;re all painted yellow&#44; so people stop for every single one of them! Yes&#44; I said STOP! They come to a complete stop and then slowly creep over each one! Don&#39;t forget I have to go over 8 of these things! Ofcourse&#44; a few drivers have learned they can drive AROUND the speed bumps! So it&#39;s not unusual to see a driver run up on the sidewalk for a bit or drive ACROSS multiple parking spaces to avoid the things that are supposed to make driving safer! They actually make walking more dangerous and damage your car! 

Do you like smoking weed? If the answer is yes&#44; you better hope your neighbors do to because they&#39;ll be able to smell it! And if the answer is no&#44; well you won&#39;t want to live here either for the same reason! 

And speaking of smells&#44; who designed this place? The apartment doors don&#39;t seal completely so whatever stinky ethnic food you&#39;re cooking will stink up the shared hallway and you&#39;ll have to walk through it every day! Especially if you&#39;re on the second floor! Is it too much to ask that they replace the second floor window with one that can be opened to let in some fresh air? When other people tried leaving the entrances opened to get a bit of a cross-breeze going&#44; we received letters saying we&#39;re going to be charged $50/day every time they&#39;re found propped open! WTF?!? 

I haven&#39;t had any noise problems with adjacent apartments&#44; but when you walk down the hallway you can hear what&#39;s on everyone&#39;s TVs. And my downstairs neighbor got a little loud a few times&#44; first with a party and later with his girlfriend (she got a little loud too) that stopped after I dropped a 25 lb weight on the floor from waist high that shook the whole building. :D When the kids downstairs run around the whole upstairs shakes for some reason. Also&#44; when the pot smoker downstairs leaves his bathroom fan going all night (probably to blow all his smoke up into my apartment) the vibrations from the fan travel through my floor shaking my bed and keeping me up. There&#39;s also a loud humm. 

The sound from I75 isn&#39;t that bad if you have your windows closed. But there are frequently large gatherings of loud people outside the apartments hanging by their cars (and on yours). Honking their horns&#44; and listening to chanting in a foreign language on their stereos that can get really annoying. And if you have to go out during those times&#44; expect to be delayed quite a bit because they can&#39;t be bothered to pull into an actual parking space! They just block the road. 

There&#39;s also almost no shade. So in the summer your apartment will just sit in the sun absorbing heat through the dark shingled roof and the poorly insulated windows. Not to mention the gas stove which has atleast THREE pilot lights that burn constantly even when the stove is off! And I&#39;m pretty sure they leave the baseboard heat in the shared hallway on full blast even in the summer! So expect to use BOTH air conditioners on most summer days! 

Oh&#44; the refrigerator also has a tendency to freeze vegetables and the freezer has a tendency to let ice melt. So that kinda sucks. 

Now for the GOOD STUFF! 
It&#39;s not too far from where I work. (This might not apply to you.) 
It&#39;s right next door to all of Madison Heights gov&#39;t buildings&#44; police&#44; fire&#44; library&#44; there&#39;s a big park with a huge hill that&#39;s great for running up if you&#39;re into fitness and even at night you feel pretty safe there. Also a skate park&#44; bball&#44; Lasher HS&#44; and they shoot off a pretty good fireworks show on the Fourth. 
And I&#39;ve only had to kill a handful of bugs in my time here&#44; but I get the impression my apartment might have been fumigated before I got here because the surfaces of most of the kitchen cabinets were all sticky and I found a few roach motels on top of the cabinets. 

I am currently a resident at Lexington Village Apartments and I am writing this review because I don&apos;t want anyone to make the same mistake I did by renting out an apartment based on viewing the &quot;model apartment&quot;. I was never shown my actual apartment until AFTER I signed my lease. I have a serious phobia of any type of insects and this was one of my questions upon signing my lease, I was assured that there were no bugs that I would have to worry about living here. I have since had SEVERAL encounters with GIGANTIC CENTIPEDES, ANTS, WATER BUGS, SPIDERS AND some type of BLACK BUG I can&apos;t even identify! I am also paying an upcharge for an upgraded apartment which includes remodeled kitchen and bathroom. My kitchen has a stove that is more than 10years old and my dishwasher hasn&apos;t worked in over a month!! I have brought this to managements attention several times and no resolution has come of it. I even suggested moving to an upper level apartment or compensating some of what I pay in rent for the issues I am having, NOTHING!! My apartment is directly over the basement that is now having sewer problems so often times I have the smell of sewage seeping through my apartment!! I am a very unhappy guest here and cannot wait until my lease is over! I WOULD NOT RECCOMEND THIS APARTMENT TO MY WORSE ENEMY!!!

Renters Beware. They are organized thieves. Pay close attention to your lease they have fees that are Illegal. The staff are unprofessional and very rude. Looking to do a class action lawsuit. Garbage.

This is Long but worth it if you want an honest review. I lived at Lexington Village Apartments for a total of 6 years. The first two were in a one bedroom apartment, My husband and I left because we were in the process of buying a house. We unfortunately didn&apos;t get it so we came back and got a two bedroom. There were so many issues with this place, and our living conditions were unacceptable. Repeat pest issues; called twice with no resolve. Received noticed but no one showed. Called again, told they would speak with supervisor. Nothing. We had Roaches on and off for well over a year, to the point were we had to leave so the apartment could be fully sprayed. Our Refrigerator door broke, and we were actually told by a maintenance worker that he could put a temporary wood block to help keep closed. Unacceptable, and we had to fight to get it replaced. Mold; in every room, Shower, baseboards, walls. Window leakage in living room, rain water would come in and leak everywhere. Called, couldn&apos;t come out immediately due to weather, promised to come ASAP never fixed, Raw sewage back up in basement and the smell would be ungodly. To the point of putting a towel at the door to block it. Our gas was cutoff once with no notice; consumers ran new gas line but told no one not even maintenance. Work done with pipes in the basement with no notice, just banging noises through the ceiling. Constant complaints for weeks about hallway lights being out. Coldest day of the winter our heat goes out. Told by office to prepare and if it happens contact emergency maintenance. Called 3 times with no results, supervisor offered no help with and offered space heaters. Repeat drivers parking in car ports; no signage to indicate that its private parking and that violators will be told. Sent several emails of frustration with no response. The office loss not only our 60 day notice to vacate but also renters insurance policy. Pipes from upstairs neighbors make loud booming sounds through the walls, nothing can be done if the neighbors don&apos;t call and complain. Our front door lock to the actual apartment stayed broken by unknown residents, no matter how many times my neighbors or I called to complain. Our neighbors had a dog in non dog friendly building. Called and emailed several times no response. I can&apos;t tell you how many stolen packages we lost. USPS themselves told us how bad the area was for it. Trash on lawn including food, cigarette butts near car, and underwear (yes underwear). We were threatened with a 50 dollar fine for improper waste management; one box was thrown out of the dumpster. Someone from maintenance cut off a part of the box with our address on it, and placed it in our door knocker with a letter from the office. Never mind the fact that people who don&apos;t live on the properly dump their trash here every day with no consequences. Maintenance worker broke window near front door, for no purpose. Not fixed immediately and it took days for a proper cover to be put up. Honestly, do yourself a favor and not even bother. This place is absolutely horrible, and I&apos;m so glad to be gone.

There is no security camera/staffs so there is a chance your car gets broken into or get your motorcycle stolen.
Maintenance would not arrive on time most likely. Even if they did, they will discriminate you by race and use your personal belongings to solve the issue without asking or leave left over work material/residue without proper clean up. 
The automatic recurring payment system for rent would malfuntion/glitch sometimes and you will be charged for late fee + legal fee which will result you getting eviction note + zoom hearing just because your "automatic payment" didn't go thorough.
They will come in to your apartment once a year without your request just to check if your apartment unit is well taken care of. If the condition is poor then they will email every single people on their system to expose you how bad your apartment looks like and warn you that you could be evicted. On top of that they will try to charge your "totally fine and properly functioning" fire alarm stating that they replaced it when they didn't during this visit.
When you call the office to renew rent upon the renew is about to expire, they wouldn't answer the phone call even if you left a voicemail.
Unless you walk into the office, they will just neglect your rent to be expired with no notification and convert it into montly payment which is way overpriced. When you finally realize it and contact them, they will charge extra fee once again just to get you back on the lease and increase montly pay at ridiculous rate and get rid of your gas/water/disposal fee exception benefit which you used to have when you first moved in.
There are units infested with bedbugs and they will use some toxic chemical to kill them which may result your health possibly.
Property manager would say some random stuffs like she is not in charge of certain thing or do not have authority over for the most simple thing that you ask to be done and blame others for their own problem. To me it almost seemed like she has no passion or dignity for her position.
Overall I would not want to say anything positive for this apartment and from what I have experienced it doesn't worth your time and money. I am stuck living here for now just because I am trying to set up a downpayment for my own house but if I were you, I would not step in from the beginning.
Again everything I stated above is based on what I saw/witnessed/experienced/felt through out living here for +3 years.

With this being my first apartment, my experience has been really good overall from my work orders being completed in a timely manner to the attentiveness of the front office to the quietness of the neighborhood. I'm overall satisfied.
