Perfect First Renting Experience

My husband and I have had a great first half of our year here at Summit Ridge. We struck an amazing summer deal on our rent which saves us tons of $$$ a month. Also, since my husband is an artist and we love color, we were very excited to find that you can paint the walls any color you want while you're here (as long as you prime them back). It makes the apartment look so much more like a home when a complex lets you paint. Even more, it was one of the few (affordable) locations with some homey accents like crown molding and judges paneling in the dining area. When we moved in we did have a couple small issues. The refrigerator leaked and got really icy on the inside, and we found out one of our bedroom windows had not been caulked very well at all. It was separating from the wall quite a bit, and that wasn't going to be good for the heating bill. However, once we made the complaints known, it wasn't a week before Summit Ridge took care of each issue. Everything has been perfect with the apartment's condition ever since! We can't speak much to noise considering we're on the third floor. You can hear the people under you when they're vacuuming a little bit, but that's pretty much the apartment life. We did have a resident below us say she could hear us play with our dog during the day (our dog's about the size of a dalmatian), but it wasn't anything loud enough for her to be concerned about, she said. Oh, and FYI...moving into an apartment on the top floor really wasn't much of an issue, either. The stairwells are pretty darn wide and just steep enough that nothing is too tall to carry up them. Believe me, moving into a top apartment is no fun, but I felt like if you chose that route, this would probably be one of the best locations to do so. We have never had any problems finding a parking spot near the apartment, and the grounds are very well kept. There are periodic trash cans with complimentary doggie bags when you walk your pet that are very handy. The pet costs are pretty standard here. Not cheap by any means, but they are justifiable. Even more, they have a pretty generous weight limit and very few breed restrictions which allows you a lot of opportunity to own a pet here. Plus, the staff really love pets. We have never had any safety issues or concerns whatsoever here. The neighborhood is super safe. We did have something stolen out of my husband's truck which was pretty sad, but that can happen in any parking lot. We have never had issues with safety within the apartment at all. Last but not least, the staff we see on a somewhat regular basis (for apartment living, anyway) recognize us. One of them even knows us by name. I think that's really cool considering the huge size of this apartment complex. It also makes it easier for you to come to them with your concerns and questions. Honestly guys, the only thing I dislike about this place is how dang late the mail comes (like 4:30pm). Other than that, it has been a really amazing first apartment experience!!!
