I lived at this complex for one year, from 2010 to 2011. I left the complex due to job relocation. Anyway, the complex is nice and attractive. Near the end of my lease, Colonial Properties took over and began to make some changes such as painting buildings and railings and an increase in rent. The changes were still in progress when I moved out, so there may have been additional changes as well. I did have a few issues with the complex but overall I thought it was nice and was quite satisfied.
My main issue during my lease was parking. Like other reviews have said, each apartment is given a parking pass so they can park at their building. If this worked it would be fine, but it doesn't at all. In order to get a parking spot, you need to be back at the complex and in for the night shortly after 5PM. Forget coming in at night. You will have to drive around the complex a few times to find a spot and often you will have to walk quite a bit, which is not fun when it is pitch dark with no one around and you have things to carry in.
Other issues I noticed were staff and spiders/spider webs, which were there from day one. I had no problems with staff at the beginning. Around the time Colonial Properties took over, several times I was given a notice that I was being charged for a late rental payment and had so many days to pay until my belongings would be removed. I always paid my rent on time, which is why this was so frustrating, and it didn't just happen once, it happened multiple times. Every time I would call and offer to provide copies of cashed checks, and the issue would be resolved, but it was annoying nonetheless.
Overall, the issues were minor, and I would recommend the complex to others. I don't think the approval rating should be as low as it is on here. Generally, from my experience, the complex is safe and nice.
