Resident ā€¢ 2016 - 2017

3/29/2017

I have lived here a year. While the pool and gym areas are nice and well taken care of, the rest of the property is not well maintained. The stairways and hallways are very dirty. Maintenance does not remove snow or ice, which caused problems this year and more so last year when we had more snow. The ceilings/floors between apartments are very thin as are the walls. You can hear everything in apartments next door, above and below. Not quiet. The hallways get very gusty in the winter making it a challenge to keep apartments warm. The property owners moved their attention to the new community they are building in Biltmore Village. In building 1000, the apartments facing the pool deal with constant noise. The property manager is not always responsive or caring about issues raised by residents. For example, there was a fire in an apartment caused by a defective stove. It took management 3 weeks to clean the apartment when they promised it would be done in a day. They skimped on fixing the apartment and avoided reporting the incident to insurance even though the fire department was involved. The tenant had to live in a smoke infested apartment for days with burned walls and soot filled carpet and vents. While there are some nice people living here, most are leaving or have left the past few months. Many vacant apartments.

Thank you for your recent review for The Aventine. I am sorry you feel that our management team's level of commitment is not meeting your standards however I can assure you we are very dedicated to continuing to make The Aventine a beautiful and comfortable place to call "home". You will begin to see our Maintenance team working on pressure washing and cleaning the breezeway's over the next month. Please be advised that the small fire that occurred in an apartment was not caused by a defective stove. The fire was caused by melted wax left in a pot which overflowed on the stove. We responded to the fire immediately and began remediation the following day. We are seeing many of our current residents leave us to purchase homes however this is to be expected in our ever changing market. I welcome residents to come see me anytime to discuss their concerns. My door is always open! Respectfully, Diane Areno Community Manager
