We have lived here almost a year. If you are thinking of renting, do yourself a favor and check all the neighboring apartment complexes. Aventine is vastly over priced and the prices are going up not down. Our renewal notice was supposed to be an incentive to stay - it's more than what we pay now ! We have one of the largest properties on site and definitely feel we are paying too much. Noise from the interstate is constant in the lower buildings 2000 through 5000. Pool / resident noise is an issue in building 1000. Management don't care for your feedback and don't maintain the outside grounds and property very well. No one has ever done our windows and exterior. We had to report filthy hallways and out patio being covered weekly in grass cuttings. Maintenance avoid all of this. The night we moved in both toilets were full of black gunge and the bleach we put in it didn't touch it. We had to call them out to use industrial cleaning solutions before we dared to use them. The clubhouse and gym is always immaculate but don't be fooled. For the money here they should be maintaining everything; hallways, BBQ's, exteriors and stairwells but they only bother under duress if you complain. Nothing about this complex makes it special from the others that are more affordable. Also the bills here are double / triple other places. We found out that one of the bedroom windows was half out and not sealed too, there was a constant draft. Our winter electric bill during the snow period was $220 and we keep it warm not tropical. We were still wrapped in blankets, even after the window was fixed. something is not right, the buildings aren't maintaining temp. Water bills have been an issue too - we complained since it seemed we were paying for the sprinklers on site - management denied it but the bills went down a little ! I don't trust the management here at all. There were once some good staff but they left. We caught one office member in a lie about the renewal / notice period - she was so desperate to sign us up for another extortionate year, she added 30 days making it 90 days !! No thanks. Oh and one last thing - there are no sidewalks down to the lovely Biltmore Park area, so living here means you must be a driver. My advice; find something cheaper and less out on a limb, you'll be happier.
