The application and move in process was very easy and pleasant. The apartment was nice, clean, close to restaurants and shopping. The walls are super thin and you will hear your neighbor's tv, alarm clock, vacuum, etc. There were no breed restrictions for dogs which was great. There were a few vehicle burglaries, but the I never felt unsafe at any point in the community. We had one major maintenance emergency the weekend before Christmas. We had a water heater flood two rooms completely. The on call worker came right out and fixed the problem immediately. They do nickel and dime you on pest control, cable, trash, etc. When it came time to resign our lease there was a substantial increase and you had to do the dance to get it down to a reasonable increase. They even said they would throw in a free carpet cleaning. Overall it was a fairly positive experience.
Halfway through our second year we found a great deal on a home purchase. I knew it would be expensive to break our lease, 2 month notice, 2 month penalty. After we gave notice we became second rate residents. We had partially moved out before the end of our lease, and our smoke detector had and issue and beeped every 90 seconds. It drove us nuts, and we asked to get it checked multiple times. I can only imagine how the neighbors felt. We were also told we could no longer use our free carpet cleaning. On top of that we were charged about $700 for pet stains on a carpet. I admit there were pet stains, that may or may not have been able to be removed by a professional cleaning. However that room was also stained by the flooding from our first year, an accident that was not our fault. All in all we were treated like trash and it cost us about $5000 to leave.
If you leave on better terms you may have a better experience. If you leave early they seem to take it personally and will ruin your day.
