Resident 2005 - 2006

Don't believe the negative reviews!

I was shocked to read the latest reviews on this place and can only conclude they were written by someone trying to get out of paying something. I rented an apartment at Post Park for my daughter in July 2005 and visited her often. She is moving out this summer to another city, but realizes it will be a long time before she has an apartment this nice again. Yes, it was expensive, but well worth it in terms of space and ambience. Come to the Outer Banks and see what $1,000 a month will get you there before you complain about Post Park! We have had nothing but good experiences there: it is safe, well lit, the grounds are beautiful, parking is plentiful, although she had a garage. Her apartment (I can't speak for other floor plans, but she had a 1 bedroom) had tons of storage: 5 pantry/coat/storage closets, besides her bedroom closet, which is a huge walk in closet with a light that comes on when the door opens. There is ceramic and tile in the bathroom rather than fiberglass tub. There are beautiful views (living room window looks over a nature trail and bedroom over a pond), large rooms; the laundry hookups were in their own large separate room rather than behind a closet in the dining area as in a lot of places I have rented. I could go on and on! You couldn't ask for a more peaceful or attractive place to live. It was also extremely well lit at night. My daughter walked to and from work and never felt uncomfortable. Phillips Place is like an Italian village, (although a fake one), but where else can you walk to a movie theater, several restaurants as well as two Dean & DeLucas, and great shops. You can get to the local Harris Teeter by crossing Fairview Road and going through an office park and thus never getting on another major road. The office staff is helpful( sometimes you have to call them back a couple of times, but that is the way of the world these days), the maintenance staff was very prompt and helpful the one time I used them. The workout room was adequate, the pool was large. I have NEVER heard any loud noise there, indeed it is so quiet, it is almost strange! The neighbors were very quiet and kept to themselves. The gate malfunctioned once in a year of being there. We just went to another gate. The people who are talking about poor construction I just don't know what they are talking about: this is an apartment building, not a custom built home. You are not going to find granite counters and stainless steel appliances. The only MINOR complaint I may have had to do with the tenants, not the management: driving too fast in the parking lot. Overall a great place to live, and yes it is worth the price!
