I felt compelled to write this as this place is not as bad as it sounds. I am pretty picky myself.
I have lived here since August 2012 and it was just suppose to be a few months while in between houses. I have extended twice because I have enjoyed it so much. The leasing office folks and the maintenance staff are all very professional and caring. Like any business one person on the office knows more than the other so just find out the right one that knows what s going on. And they stay out of your business if you want them too.
My place is clean and sunny. I will agree that the appliances are dated. The parking can be a pain, but I just rent my own garage. This is one of the few places that allow you to have a dog. The location and nearby shops and restaurants really make this place convenient. The pool and workout facilities are very nice. Summer time around the pool is fun as there are a lot of people who use it. Little bit of drinking and grilling as well, but nothing too crazy. The office staff are constantly having some social gathering for the residences.
All of the neighbors are very courteous and friendly. The grounds are very well maintained. They have a small community garden area and a pond as well that has lots of fish. My son and I have fished it.
Any small issues with your place are fixed pretty quickly. I can hear my neighbors a little but nothing too bad.
Be prepared though when you or your neighbors turn on the hot water the pipes will emit a knocking noise, which is due to the faulty PVC piping, they installed (caused by expansion of cold pipe/hot water) but you do get used to it. The police do drive in the complex occasionally, but I did have my bike stolen (I locked it under the stairs, but the theives no where to look)and reported it so if you do have one keep it inside your place. They should remove the bike rakes so not to let the new residents think that it is a safe place.
If you do have kids it s safe for them as well as I do share custody with my three boys and they have enjoyed it. They can find something to do on the tennis court, pool or by the lake( Fenced in).
Overall a great place to live and I would recommend it and will miss it when I get my house. I am dreading having to do the maintenance and yard work!
