I've lived at Post Park at Phillips Place since March of 2013. It's my first apartment since moving to Charlotte. It's expensive, but I had a bad experience with having room mates so I decided I would pay whatever I had to pay to have quiet and a nicer place. Post Park definitely seems to be one of the nicer places, even for South Park which is already a wealthier area. I've never had any issues with my apartment. But here's the good and the bad for me...
Good:
LOCATION! You are right next to everything you could pretty much need... unless you need a target or walmart. You could literally walk to Whole Foods in like 30 seconds, Harris Teeter around the corner, library, SouthPark Mall, etc.
Pretty nice apartments.
No issues with appliances
Nice balcony
No big bug issues (just a few here and there)
Nice office people
Decent gym (could be better though)
Nice tenants (have made a few friends)
Quiet (at least for me). I've never had any noise issues with neighbors
Bad:
Expensive. Be prepared to pay out the wazoo.
Rent is going up almost 20% if I renew in March (not gonna happen)
For some reason, no light installed in bedroom (but they have speakers in the walls?)
Pitch black outside at night. If I was a woman, I would NOT feel terribly comfortable living here because there's almost no lighting outside.
Break ins. We seem to have car break ins happen every once in a while
I think most reviews, good and bad, are written by competing apartment management companies. This place is actually pretty dang nice, despite the cost. The other people who have left really bad reviews are probably the few who just got the short end of the stick. If my rent didn't increase, I might stay... but I'd rather just find a room mate and reduce my rental expenses. Hope this helps
