Resident 2006 - 2007

Happy enough

Several people seem to be complaining about the staff. In particular someone singled out the "dark haired woman," I believe. What are you saying or doing to these poor people in the office? Are you brandishing weapons at them? Have you showered recently? Did you hit their dog and you're stopping in the office to ----- about how someone's stupid pet left a dent in the front of your Land Rover (which you cannot park between the lines to save your life, by the way)? Needless to say, the staff at Post Park has been very nice to me and my significant other. They worked us a decent deal on moving in, helped us to get just the unit we wanted, and have been helpful on many occasions since. I'm embarrassed when I go into the office sometimes because they greet me by name and I can't seem to remember any of theirs. The units are not of the highest caliber, at least not any more. However, the complex is, what, 10 years old? Don't expect them to look brand new. We had some things we weren't 100% happy with when we moved in. We replaced the kitchen sink ourselves to get a sprayer. There were a couple broken window latches; replaced promptly. A kitchen shelf was missing; replaced promptly. The appliances are old, but perfectly functional. The unit was really quite clean. There are built-in speakers in the walls in the bedrooms and living room (or, at least, I see speaker grates; I haven't hooked them up). The 2br I'm in is quite large and faces a large pond, which makes for a nice view. In general I find the condition of the units to be perfectly acceptable. And, look, natural gas! I think this is one of two or three apartment complexes in Charlotte that have gas ranges. If you like to cook, you may be interested in this. The parking is OK. If you expect to be able to leap into your car from the front door, you're probably in trouble (unless you have a garage) but I've never had to walk very far at all. The location kind of sucks in my opinion. Like eating at P.F. Chang's, or the Cheesecake Factory? You're in luck. Want to go just about anywhere else? Eh, kind of a drive, and lots of lights. Want to get on the express way? I-77 is a 10 minute drive (in no traffic; try this drive during rush hour--bring supplies for two days, just to be safe) and I-85 is a mere legend around these parts. Finally, the price is a little high, but not all that bad, especially for Southpark. For the condition of the apartments, yeah it might be a little hard. But do you really think you can find a nicer apartment in a good area for less? (If so, please let me know.)
