Love it here!!
I've had an absolutely wonderful experience living here! From the moment I moved in, the staff has been incredibly welcoming and responsive, always going above and beyond to make sure my needs are met. The apartments are spacious, modern, and well-maintained. I love the amenities—especially the pool and fitness center. The location is unbeatable, with easy access to local shops, restaurants, and public transportation. The community itself is quiet, friendly, and feels safe, making it a great place to call home. I couldn't be happier with my decision to live here and recommend any business student check out B9 before any other place!

The building tried to double charge an application fee for adding my girlfriend to my lease. When speaking to the manager (Louise Bellamy) about this added charge, she was incredibly rude to my girlfriend, basically shewing her off. Since we had already paid for the additional application fee, my girlfriend was already a resident at that point, but this shouldn't matter as the manager's behavior was unbelievably rude by any standards. We never got an apology for the manager's unacceptable behavior towards my girlfriend. I do not recommend this building to any self respecting person. It is NOT worth the price, which is basically double what you would pay anywhere else in this town.

Overall this place is adequate. The location is the best thing this place has to offer. I also think the maintenance team are great and the parking is great value. The amenities are okay, the pool is closed randomly or dirty and the gym has a lot of broken equipment that nobody is fixing. It could also definitly be cleaner because there are a lot of public areas that just don't get cleaned and are dusty or damaged. I think for a place that wants to be luxurious it falls a little short of that promise but overall Is a decent place to live.

My experience at this apartment has generally been positive, but there are several maintenance issues that have made it problematic. The fire alarms consistently go off in error, the garage gates were broken for most of the last year, the pool is closed way more often than it should be and the dog park lacks regular maintenance. My honest opinion is that it's a nice community, but is overpriced and under maintained

The building and apartments are great, the management is abysmal. They're polite?is all the positive i can say about them. Management is too up in our business and the "standards" set by the building make residents life unnecessarily tough. I will not be continuing at the end of my current lease.

I have enjoyed living here with a few exceptions: The garage gates have not operated for weeks at a time. They are currently operational. Cell service in the units is very poor. Being a senior that is a safety concern and very frustrating.

Great maintenance tech team!
Thank you to Herman, one of the two great maintenance techs for hanging up my mirror for me. I’m very particular about the way things look and he always works so thoughtfully and does a great job! Thanks!

Amazing Place!
The team at B9 is what sets this community apart from the others. Maintenance is always on top of it and the office team is ready to help whenever you need them. We had a great move in experience and are thrilled we chose this place!

Really good complex. Nice amenities and interiors. Pretty safe and has a nice view of the neighborhood. Totally worth it. The leasing office is very responsive every time you need them. It can be noisy during the weekends, especially in the barbecue area. Not great if it is Sunday.

Herman and Anthony are the best employees of berk 9 ever. They are always so nice and helpful and today they helped me find a package I thought was stolen. 10/10 for them!!! Thank you guys so much!!!!

Superior Complex with great maintenance!
B9, as we call it, is one of the more superior apartment complexes here in Durham on Ninth Street. It gives you a great sense of pride to be here. The management is extremely helpful and takes care of its residents and the maintenance staff is extremely responsive and knowledgeable. Louise and Anthony are great great people you can rely upon. Highly recommend this place for someone looking to stay in Durham.

3-bedroom review
Berkshire Ninth Street is an incredible apartment, especially if you want to get to know Duke students and faculty. Not only are the apartment facilities clean and modern, but the environment is more welcoming than any other apartment in Durham. For example, if you hear your neighbor having a party, you are always welcome in. There is also a dog park which is one of my favorite aspects of the building. Stressed out? Go play with dogs for an hour!

It is a very welcoming place with outstanding staff, Jacob and Louise are outstanding in their professionalism and welcoming competences. They also solved issues in a very courteous and expedited manner. They surely make me feel as a resident comfortable, safe and relaxed

Great location next to Ninth St with great amenities (gym, pool, courtyard, nice clubhouse). Community events are a great way to meet people and get free food. A lot of the people here are affiliated with Duke.

The community is very nice here, especially the events held in the lobby or in the clubhouse. The maintenance team is very friendly and makes sure to acknowledge you every time you see them, and they are pretty quick about getting back to you for any maintenance concerns

The apartment is very close to the Duke's campus. I've lived here for 2 years and the services are great. The people in the leasing offices are also very friendly. Highly recommended. Amenities are wonderful including the huge dog park!

Best place on Ninth Street
Outstanding! The best experience for an apartment lease ever. Very responsive staff, well maintained property and extremely clean apartments— with new appliances and features. Had a great experience from tour to move in. Great area--you can walk to everything! I have no complaints.

I recently moved to Berkshire and right away we could tell this was a friendly and welcoming community. Staff made the move easy and were incredibly accommodating during the process. I'm excited to take advantage of the community socials, amenities, and enjoy all Ninth St has to offer!

I have absolutely no complaints! They are extremely timely with repairs and I like my neighbors. There's not much to complain about. In addition, I'm fairly close to a few good restaurants and there are apartments activities regularly.

We enjoy living at Berkshire, close to many activities in town. The grounds are kept up nicely. Staff is always helpful when called upon. Anthony and Herman in maintenance are great!!! We really enjoy all activities that Scott and Lori of Apartment Life arrange each month.

The folks at Berkshire Ninth Street, both in the leasing office and on the maintenance team, are incredibly kind and professional. When issues or questions do arise, they are helpful and address issues swiftly and efficiently. I am looking forward to the rest of my time here, with such great folks and ameneties.

I like it overall but could be a little better with upkeep and my unit was never cleaned by the turnover team which resulted in mold and other issues. The response time with staff is very long and typically requires several follow ups.
