I have absolutely no complaints! They are extremely timely with repairs and I like my neighbors. There's not much to complain about.  In addition, I'm fairly close to a few good restaurants and there are apartments activities regularly.

Raleigh-Durham-Chapel-Hill-NC-MSA

The Berkshire Ninth Street is a wonderful apartment complex. The staff are attentive to the needs of the residents and care about their wellbeing. Interesting events are held on a regular basis that are fun and engaging. The apartment complex itself is new and well maintained. The location is an excellent selling point as it is located on Ninth St. which has many shops and restaurants. The community is warm and welcoming.

I&apos;m very fond of the Berkshire (B9). It is my favorite of all the places I have lived in Durham. A minor annoyance, B9 does accept undergrads and thus there is some noise and rambunctiousness from them. Other than that I have nothing but positive things to say about B9.

The neighborhood is the greatest feature of this apartment. But, I have been very dissatisfied with the experiences living here. 1. The amount of cockroaches I have found in my apartment is a disgrace. The first one that I saw I asked to have the pest control that pay for come in our monthly rent to stop by within the next 24 hours. I was told that they just came but I can get put on &quot;the list&quot; to have them spray my apartment in two weeks when they return. In a span of two weeks I have found three inside my apartment. We are now on &quot;the list&quot; to have them spray our apartment every other week and will be inspecting the siding. 2. When we moved in we were not given any mail keys. I had to ask it took about 3 weeks before we were given mail keys. When I finally picked mine up, I noticed that they gave me a copy of my apartment key. They at least expedited copying the correct key later that day but it was another delay. 3. The noise is pretty bad. Living next to Harris Teeter we didn&apos;t consider how late and how often truck deliveries would be. I hear them all times through the night and some drunk students outside on weekends. The train is actually not bad. 4. The fitness center has so much potential but for a few weeks the wifi has not worked and the AC was broken, causing temps to hang around 82 degrees. The AC just got fixed and it is a bit more comfortable at 75 degrees but wifi is unpredictable and some machines are out of service.

The building tried to double charge an application fee for adding my girlfriend to my lease. When speaking to the manager (Louise Bellamy) about this added charge, she was incredibly rude to my girlfriend, basically shewing her off. Since we had already paid for the additional application fee, my girlfriend was already a resident at that point, but this shouldn't matter as the manager's behavior was unbelievably rude by any standards. We never got an apology for the manager's unacceptable behavior towards my girlfriend. I do not recommend this building to any self respecting person. It is NOT worth the price, which is basically double what you would pay anywhere else in this town.
