Management is horrible!

I haved lived here with my husband for almost 4 years now. When we first moved in, the complex was under different management. It was really nice, grounds were well taken care of, and the staff was very friendly and professional. Fast forward a little bit. All of the previous staff left, except for the maintenance person. A husband and wife took over the management. Now, there are fireants all over the place, the garbage and recycling containers is usually overflowing, and trying to talk to the staff about concerns is useless. I have seen atleast 7 people get hired and quit within a few months. I even had a friend that worked there for a little bit and she said it was a nightmare. Mr. M******, the manager, is a total ahem, well jerk. He acts like you owe him a favor for living there. And I think one of the most annoying things to me is (a pet peeve I guess), they all park in the handicapped spaces. Just drive by there (the office), and I can just about guarantee you that there will be a silver truck parked out front of the office in the handicapped space. The guy is not handicapped, and he just parks there because, well I don't know why. But, he doesn't have a decal, it's like they just don't care. Also, people FLY through the apartment complex. In the building that I live, there is a "blind" turn in the parking lot. I have almost been hit by a speeding car (and the best part is, it was the manager's wife, the leasing agent, Mrs. M******). I wasn't in the middle of the road or anything, but she came around so fast and cut the corner, and couldn't see what was around the turn... At least she stopped and apologized. So many things have gone downhill. I can't wait to move. Oh, and I know this pretty much happens anywhere, but my husband's car was broken into. Since we have been there, 4 other cars in my building have been broken into, and I have seen a few cars up on blocks with their tires/rims taken. If you ever have any problems, just know that nothing will be done. Their answer to everything is "we will put something in the newletter" which doesn't help anything. All you get is lip service. There was a problem with parking near my building. One apartment in particular (a 2 bedroom), has 6 cars associated with it. Although they are only supposed to have 2. So, you can imagine that the parking is congested. I went and talked to the manager, who assured me that he would label "guest" parking and make sure that tenants had a place to park. Nothing happened, except they spray painted over the parking lines, and them relined them (with spraypaint!) smaller to make one more spot. So now there are parking spaces with really horrible looking lines, that have the paint rubbing off. One of the spots is so small, that I can park my SUV with the tires on the lines on each side. Great solution to the parking guys! I have even caught them dumping the full recycling containers into the garbage compactor, which is illegal... All right, enough ranting. There are so many more examples. Just make sure you get everything in writing, and realize that the office will not do anything to make your experience more pleasant. One more thing, the maintenance guy, Peter, he rocks! I think that he is the only reason that we are still there. He is so nice, and helpful, and can fix anything right away for you! The managment doesn't really deserve to have such a nice person.
