I have enjoyed living at the Berkshire until recently. With the addition of Soca Raleigh in the building, the management of the Berkshire have decided to allow a valet parking service to commandeer the leasing office parking lot every day, from 5 o'clock onward. The valet service will not allow anybody into the leasing office parking lot, which has led to complete mayhem in the driveway after work. Because the leasing office parking lot is off limits, Ubers and delivery trucks are parking directly in front of the entrance to the parking garage, leading to traffic backing up and creating a dangerous situation trying to navigate a blind curve into the garage. Speaking of the garage, management has no problem berating the residents of the building for not parking in the gated area, but will do NOTHING to alleviate the issue of residents double parking in the garage. Trying to find a parking space often feels impossible, because everybody parks their cars over the line with no consequence.
The amenities are nice, the location is nice, and the apartments are nice, but the parking situation combined with the fact that a valet parking service gets precedence over the residents that pay to live here has led to me looking for another place to live when my lease is up. There has been an issue with the fire alarms going off in the middle of the night, but they seem to have resolved it.
