Resident 2013

3/6/2013

I would not recommend Wakefield Glen Apartments to anyone, not even an enemy. I would not wish such horrible customer service upon anyone no matter the referral compensation. The lack of communication and organization rates to a community that rents for 300-400 per month. Between --------------- neither know what's left or right and will give any answer to spin the residents without providing any solution or reslutions to request. I have been told several different answers to inquiries and still haven't received a solid response. Communication severly lacks in the rental office. I eventually became annoyed with such ignorance and just decided to pay my rent and wait my time out until I can move. Maintenance request are normally not handled in a timely manner and if they are, the craftsman ship lacks. When I moved in I there was large metal stip on the floor that needed replacing, the maintenance guy came and put in a peice larger and did not properly secure it to the floor. My daughter tripped and cut her foot, when I called the office the staff avoided the problem and did not correct it. I eventually ripped the strip up and put a rug down and figured they could deal with the problem when I move. A similar repair response when I requested a lock be changed, the guy installed a lock that doesn't lock and still no resolution from the rental office. Finally the last straw which prompted me to write this review; I returned home from work late one evening, When I entered my apartment I smelled strong fumes that flooded the apartment.I slept that evening but the fumes were so strong when I woke I vomitted. The next day I spoke with a repair guy who was working in a unit close and he said that it was paint fumes from the neighboring apartment. I turned off my heating vents and left for the weekend thinking the apartment fumes would be gone by the time I returned from a trip. When I returned on Sunday evening, the fumes were still there. First thing on Monday I placed a call to the rental office and complained about the fumes, they said they would send someone to check on it, I asked for a return call so I could determine if I should bring my daughter's back to the apartment because of the fumes. Several hours later I had not recieved a telephone call ( lack of communication) and she told me "oh ya, they had to knock out a wall in the apartment below you and had to blow insuation into the walls, when they close that wall the smell should go away in about 7 days. " Really??? Don't you think that's vital information to inform residents especially if the fumes are going to intrude their space. The apartments are very nice on the inside but don't let the appearance and price fool ya (speaking of price the utilities are inflated through first billing)In my previous home not apartment, my utlity bill werent as high as they are in my little apartment. ...Its not worth the headache. You've been warned.
