My wife and I moved here right after we found out we were expecting our first child. Previously, we were renting at another complex closer to downtown raleigh, but moved due to our concern for safety. When we moved in, we asked quite a few hard questions to the property manager about their community, to which they could not adequately answer. Despite the lack of confidence in management team (and a negative review from a friend that had recently left the community), we saw the merit in the safety of the area and the HUGE value of the apartment versus others in the area and moved in. The apartment itself is nothing really special, taking into consideration that they were built in the mid 80's. We rented a "Classic" version which still boast the original fixtures and appliances, however we did see the "Remodeled" version which did have new faux stainless steel appliances, laminate wood floors, and new light fixtures throughout the apartment. Everything else is standard. The few maintenance issues that have arisen during our lease have been taken care of is a somewhat timely manner and were completed semi-professionally. Our building is secluded from the rest of the community (which was a selling feature to us) and houses some of the more "seasoned" renters of the community, so we have had ZERO issues with our neighbors, well, except for one older neighbor slamming his car door into the side of ours by accident. Now, a new management group has taken over and our confidence in them is much greater than the previous management group. Additionally, the "extra" services that were supposedly features of the community (which the cost of was passed on to the renter in a subsequent bill each month) were pricy with the first management group which really made you ask if it was a good value... i.e. $30 for trash service and $20 for recycling. The new management group has really done their homework on the new services provided to the renter and provided a great value (including valet trash removal from each apartment unit). With the revised confidence in the new management and office staff, we were more than willing to resign our lease.
