My husband & I are in our 4th year lease at Wakefield Glen. We have witnessed multiple changes in staff and will admit that the current management staff is the best yet. However, I am very displeased with the overall experience. Our place was upgraded several years ago but done so haphazardly and only partially. One bathroom has a light fixture that falls out of the ceiling, irregular globs of white caulk lines on the poorly laid vinyl, one handle never replaced so its white instead of silver, one that was never drilled into the poorly painted/covered over door so it just swings back & forth, etc. Our apartment has been flooded twice: once because our neighbors water heater had busted and once because a building sprinkler line had burst. Our laundry room also routinely flooded with heavy rains or after the building was power washed but they did finally get that fixed. However, the laundry room vinyl is still buckled as a result. Our walls were never repainted as part of the upgrade. They've been patched both times after the ceilings fell in from water. We've had blower fans brought to us after each flood but our carpets have never been cleaned, even though the water damage was not our fault. We renewed our lease each year with the suggestion to have a clause put in that the painting and carpet would be replaced after we moved. We never hid the fact that we had 2 cats. The instructions to be mindful of them have been on every work order we've ever placed as well as several notes on our door. And now, 7 mo. Into this current lease, we've been slapped with a large sum pet fee & now a monthly fee. They've never updated my name on the lease, even though They have a copy of my current drivers license. Therefore, unless my husband calls, We can't get a response to our requests. Because of all the confusion, past disorganization, subpar work, and disregard, my husband & I are left wondering what next. We seem to be on the end of some very bad service even though we have always been thoughtful and courteous renters. I am saddened by these turn of events because although this is the ideal location, it appears unless you're one of the chosen few, you shouldn't expect quality, fairness, or satisfaction.
