All these reviews are absolute -------- don’t live here I repeat don’t live here unless you want to be super disappointed. Let me start off by saying they aren’t afraid to kick you out over the most minor things. The office lady sherry is super nosey and picks on us African American people. She does not like black people whatsoever and she claims she’s doing her job when really she’s a pain in the damn ---. I have lived several different places never have i witnessed an office lady like this also, she will watch you she is super strange lady multiple people have tried complaining about this lady and nobody does anything about it. She harasses tenants to the point where they don’t even want to live here it made being here completely miserable. The rent is cheap but with all these problems it isint worth it I promise you

I'm not a resident but my experience upon my application process was very pleasant! I forget her name, I think it was Aiesha but the young lady in the office was very respectful. Although, she was about to head out for her lunch break she waited for me to arrive. I told her I was coming from Raleigh and I'd arrive in 15 minutes. To my surprise the location wasn't where I thought and it took me about 30 minutes to arrive but she waited for me! The application process was a breeze and she helped me with any questions regarding the application. I didn't have my application fee but the young lady let me go run and get a money order, she waited in the office for me again! I hope she was able to go out and get her lunch. The atmosphere was very welcoming and warming. I cant wait to have the opportunity to reside at Wakefield Hills! Thank You for your help and hope to see you again in the near future! Thanks, Jamila Dennis

I have live at Wakefield Hill Apartment for about 4years. The first issue that I have encounted since my stay here is, the kids sitting on the stairway that leads to your apartments, which have been reported to the managers many times. My second issue would be why the rent keep increasing for the residents that lives here. This is suppose to be where it is affordable, but if the rent keeps going up every year, than it will no longer be what it what intended for; which would be affordable home for individuals and families that resides there. My rent have went up more than once since I've been living at the apartment, and am a single mom that gets no type of assistance. My income is still what it was when I move into the apartment, so tell me why am facing rent income? I am not making any more money than I was when I first moved into the apartment. My next concern would be trying to settle a dispute with the office staff or manager about a issue, where you know they are the ones in error, but refuses to admit to this error. I feel that the manager should look at my track record for paying my rent, before saying that it was not put in the drop box on time. I am a person who do not mind saying that I made a mistake or an error if I did so. BUT in the case when you know you are right in the matter, it tends to bother me. I will not easily settle for someone else error. I have encount this issue for the first time since I've been here. I been here closed to 4 years and never ever had to pay a late fee on my rent, because I have always paid it before the 1st,on the 1st but never pass the 5th of the month. But to have someone tell you that you was late and you know that you was not, this is not good. I DO NOT HAVE EXTRA MONEY TO BE PAYING FOR SOMEONE ELSE ERROR.This is not right. I am not a dishonest person and this is not right. This may be a warning that my time here is drawing near.

I have live at Wakefield Hills for the last 5 years. I was one of the first tenants that moved in right after it open. I agree that there were some problems with some of the tenants behaving in ways that was disturbing to the community. However, I most give credit to the property managers they have removed all of the trouble makers. I would recommend this community to anyone that is looking for a large, spacious apartment that is affordable. I will continue to live here and enjoy my neighbors and save my money to buy a house very soon.

Wonderful Apartments, Lousy Tenants
Perfect location, perfectly appointed large apartments. Great maintenance, wonderful staff (although I have seen 3 different property managers in the past two years). Affordable! I pay only $525/mo for a 900 sq. ft. 2 bedroom, 2 full bath apartment with w/d hookups (they're income based). However if you're looking for extra amenities such as a pool, gym or pets allowed this may not be the place for you. Also, if you don't like that "------ projects" vibe you might not want to live here either. Although there has been a 10pm curfew here since I moved in in 2008 (complete w/RPD car patrols sporadically and off-duty police officers patrolling the area on foot) that has not deterred some of the tenants who live here from hanging out in the courtyard area drinking, smoking and making way too much freaking noise all hours of the night. The office staff have sent out numerous letters to all of the tenants that this type of behavior must stop in order for everyone to enjoy living here but of course these warnings have fallen on deaf ears. The only way to stop the noise is to call the cops at 2am and have them ride by. Of course that lasts about a night or two before they're back at it. Not only is the "party" noise a problem but I have seen/heard numerous loud fights involving 5, 10, 15 people out in the parking lot complete with threats of "I'm gonna shoot your b**** a** n*****!!!" and "watch your back n*****!". Meanwhile little kids are allowed to run wild through the parking lot, the breezeways and the courtyard with absolutely no parental supervision throwing sticks/rocks at buildings and banging on the light poles. I have seen people bust one of the exterior breezeway light fixtures, the case for an exterior fire extinguisher and even rip a hole in the vinyl siding of one of the buildings. Last year the office staff even felt it necessary to issue a a letter containing the names of people who had been officially banned from the complex so if we saw them they could be alerted to their presence and thrown out. We have also had complaints from the apartment complex next to us (The Columns) b/c people from our complex keep trespassing on their property and doing God only knows what. All in all, the apartments themselves are great, the staff is wonderful its is the people who're allowed to continue to live here that are the downfall. Beware!
