This apartment community is quite competitive in bang for your buck. The units themselves seem to be well maintained for the most part, with only small hints to the age of the buildings. Unfortunately, there are a few downsides. Walls in my building seem to be fairly thin - I can usually hear conversations of my downstairs neighbors on a quiet evening, I can even easily hear conversations happening outside clearly from the 3rd floor with the windows closed. I also hear every footstep of my downstairs and next-door neighbors. I have had similar experiences at other apartments though, and your experience may be different. The two things I would say are probably deal breakers for me are the apartment layout, and the community laundry. Layout - The apartment is old, and the design reflects that. If you are in the large, 2 bedroom unit, you walk into the kitchen wall, meaning unless you swing the door all the way open, you have to walk onto the carpet in your boots, not ideal when you are bringing groceries in after walking through the snow. Also, the unit is very stuffy and badly ventilated. This is a symptom of having no central HVAC, but it seems particularly poor here. During the summer with fans and windows open, it is unlikely you will be able to cool your primary or secondary bedroom effectively with the provided living room AC unit. a nitpick perhaps, but not an issue I have experienced elsewhere. Lastly, most of the square footage is in the living-room, giving the apartment one large, rectangle shaped room and 2 small bedrooms and a closed kitchen. Like I said before, this is just a symptom of the apartment's age, but still, take note that it will be difficult to use the space efficiently. Lastly, and probably the most frustrating is the complete lack of storage areas. Apart from the kitchen, you will find a grand total of 2 cabinets in my apartment and about 50 square feet of counter space split between 2 bathrooms and the kitchen. If you own anything more than a toaster oven, a coffee pot, and a couple toothbrushes and soap bottles, you are going to need to get HIGHLY creative. Laundry - one of the most difficult things to adapt to having come from the Midwest is community laundry. There are a washer and dryer for each BUILDING FLOOR, meaning you have to find a time after work or on the weekend when the machines are not in use by the other 11-13 families (some with pets). This is doable, but exceedingly difficult. Add to this that it will also cost an extra $6.00 to wash and dry a medium size load of laundry and you might be able to understand my frustration. In conclusion, it is a great spot for the money if you are willing to get creative and do without some creature comforts. The staff is professional and attentive, and the maintenance staff is prompt. The grounds are maintained, and the community is relatively peaceful. Just keep in mind, you get what you pay for!

Thank you for your review. We do acknowledge that community living can have both some ups and some downs. But, we are a well established community, in a great location with an amazing staff who are here to take care of you. So, we hope that helps to make up for anything that we may be missing!
