I am SO glad I did not rent here. I booked a tour and actually liked the apartment complex and the apartment itself. I submitted an application, but changed my mind the next day once I heard back from a different complex that was my first choice. You DO NOT want to deal with Colonial Grand at Desert Vista if you no longer wish to move forward with the resident application. As soon as I told them I wanted to cancel, their attitudes CHANGED. It was liken night and day. Politeness and professionalism went out the window. First of all, it's nearly impossible to get a hold of them over the phone. I called multiple times to zero answer, or if someone did answer, it's someone from some kind of headquarters that doesn't work directly at the property and basically tells you they can do nothing for you but pass on your message. The whole day almost passes by before they finally return my call and leave a voice message. Unfortunately, I was busy with work, and by the time I saw the missed call, they were closed. I also don't have time all day to play phone tag with a leasing office that doesn't answer it's phone. I already submitted my request to cancel, so I was kind of confused what else they wanted from me other than to try and badger me into not canceling (I suspect they were trying to stretch time so they could charge me the $200 nonrefundable "holding" fee. Thank god I had that charged blocked). Anyway, Friday comes, I call them 5 different times throughout the morning and early afternoon. Unable to get a hold of anyone. The so-called professional Pauline Hearns leaves an odd accusatory voice message basically insinuating I am avoiding their calls or not getting back to them. This annoys me, because it's especially ironic considering they don't pick up the phone. I call back. Predictably, nobody answers on the first try. I call back AGAIN. Pauline has an attitude from the start. She once again launches into some kind of lecture, like on her voice message, that she's allegedly been attempting to get a hold of me. I reply and tell her that it's actually been the opposite, and I'd just like to cancel. Just please cancel, remove me from your listing, all I did was submit an application, I do not want to move forward with the process. She then cops an even worse attitude and lectures me about an email she sent. I'm not sure what alleged email she's speaking about, and hadn't had time to jump through hoops to check, I just want to cancel. I've called multiple times, left my message requesting cancelation, that should be good enough. Pauline then hangs up on me. The manager of the office hangs up on a once-prospective tenant, lol. So unprofessional and uncalled for. I call back and ask for a manager.....of course I'm passed to her, and she claims there is no other manager around and refuses to give out the name and number to her boss (yeah, that kind of unprofessionalism). Boy, am I GLAD I changed my mind on this place. DO NOT rent here. If that is even an inkling of what you deal with as far as office staff goes, then YIKES. I would NOT want to deal with Pauline, her incompetence and unprofessionalism, and just the general stress. Funny, because while I did love the apartment, something felt very OFF about Colonial Grand, which factored into my decision. So glad I listened to my gut.
