Just don't do it.
April 2026: I had to have a fridge replaced. I rescheduled to the following day and received confirmation. So, I'm in my bathtub, and my front door is opened by two maintenance guys to replace the fridge. There is a direct sight line from my bath to the front door. So there I am, completely naked in my home with two strange men. I felt and feel absolutely violated and humiliated. I did NOT give them permission to enter. This is also NOT the first time maintenance has entered without my permission. When I told management, I was told this was a "timing and communications gap." Every piece of marketing from Bushburg is a lie. The majority of positive reviews are from those TOURING the building or receiving resident referrals of 1K+ to fill units. If you opt to live here, remember that management's job is to protect Bushburg, not you. Oh and they continue to send emails advertising a sauna that is still not open (moved in 9 months ago). Got fraud? Feb 2026: I have had roaches for four months. I've lived in New York for 30 years, never once saw anything until now. The building conducts illegal construction on weekends and overnight without after-hours permits. If you ask management for permit numbers, they ignore you. Prepare for constant noise and inability to work from home or sleep past 7am. Amenities and hallways are always freezing. I just received a $170 electric bill for a STUDIO, and the hallway was not vacuumed once in seven months. Move right in. Eight months after move-in there is still no package system: prepare to receive other units' packages and make multiple trips for your own. Congratulations, you're now a New York City Santa Claus. Your lease includes COLD water only. Make sure before you move in to get yourself an attorney first. November 2025 Update: After much back and forth, the Resident Manager came to wash the windows, which was unexpected and appreciated. Olivia, handling the former manager's responsibilities, has been kind, helpful, and quick to respond, a difference from previous months. -- I moved into The Rocklyn in July and my experience has been extremely disappointing. Do not be distracted by the shiny facade and extensive amenities. If you don't plan to live in the bowling alley, look elsewhere. Despite being marketed as "luxury" with rents over $3,700/month for a studio, the reality has been repeated service failures. AC failure: Out for 4 days during 85°+ heat. The first repair made it worse, management went silent over the weekend. A hotel was only offered after repeated complaints, by which time I'd canceled travel plans and bought my own fan. No reimbursement. Just empty apologies. Power failures: 3 separate failures in my unit in 2 months, plus a 9-hour building-wide outage causing food spoilage and lost work hours. Unauthorized entry: Contractors entered without notice to install window shades, leaving drilling debris on the floor and in my pet's bowls. Unkept promises: Windows were promised cleaned within 1–2 weeks of move-in. Still filthy. Laundry: The vendor frequently misses pickups, returns laundry late or unwashed, and has overcharged me multiple times. Packages: Multiple trips to the front desk before deliveries are located. Elevators: Wait times are extremely long during peak hours. Cheap materials: Moved in with cabinetry flaws, promised repairs. Had to chase maintenance, they replaced one door and did a "quick fix." Marks remain on most kitchen cabinets. Communication: Many emails unanswered for months. The good: Front desk staff are friendly and do their best. Unfortunately the problems are systemic and reflect management's lack of urgency.
